We set up camp outside the Wigan box but there is no penetration, no pace to pull the defence apart, hence nothing happens....

This is quite unbelievable. Phil Neville sticks out a toe to try to block Jean Beausejour's low cross from the left but can only divert it goalwards. It should still be easily gathered by Tim Howard, but the spin on the ball deceives him completely and the Everton goalkeeper is left red-faces as it bounces away from his grasping hands and into the net. Goals do not come much softer than this.
