Too bad it wasn't Elmander who scored though since I had him as the first goal scorer.Armchair Evertonian wrote:1543: GOALFLASH Liverpool 0-1 Bolton (Davies)
something to cheer about

Re: Stoke 2 Everton 0
Bolton goal: Trouble for Liverpool, and big trouble for Roy Hodgson. Matty Taylor bends in a dangerous free-kick and Kevin Davies leaps to nod home at the far post.
Tottenham goal: Not your typical Gareth Bale goal, this. Rafael van der Vaart whips in a free-kick and Bale's flicked header is enough to wrongfoot Mark Schwarzer.
1544: I'm worried Roy Hodgson might get sacked before the end of the game if that score stays the same...
1543: GOALFLASH Liverpool 0-1 Bolton (Davies)
Football League Macca: "It's finished at Millwall and the hosts have ended 3-0 winners against south London rivals Palace thanks to Jason Puncheon's hat-trick. Burnley have equalised in their game against Sheff Utd through a Chris Eagles wonder strike. In L1, Huddersfield are leading at Carlisle and Southampton are in front at home to Exeter. In L2, leaders Chesterfield are being held 1-1 by Stockport, Rotherham are up to second as they lead Port Vale 2-0."
1542: GOALFLASH Tottenham 1-0 Fulham (Bale)

Re: Stoke 2 Everton 0
Good effort by Pienaar there and rather unlucky that the ball was deflected over the bar. Hate to say this but we have to score on those chases to stand a chance of getting something from this game.

HT. We can get a point or more from this if we put in as much effort as Stoke.

Re: Stoke 2 Everton 0
Finished the half strong, unlucky not to go in level. Lovely move with Pienaar going narrowly over the bar from deflection. We need to spread it wide more. We keep driving towards the edge of the box where Stoke squeeze the attack and crowd us out. Stoke look content now to hit on the break and soak up the pressure. Baines a threat as usual but marked tightly as is Pienaar.
We can diffo get something out of this. Saha looks to have zero confidence.

57% of the possession, 6 attempts on target to Stokes 2. 4 corners to 1 also. Unfortunately we seem to be at our worst when we are trying to chase the game. When your confidence is low, you start to rush and panic things when you get into the final third. Its sad to see how on the periphery Arteta is. His only real input is to get the ball out to Baines. Felly is running all over the place, some good passes then some wild ones too. He needs more composure. That pass attempt out to Coleman was awful. Saha is hoping he might get a peno at some stage.

I'd get Beckford on ASAP. Stoke don't comfortable at all, especially when we go down the wings.
I can see a red card in this game too. Cahill may as well fuckin lamp one of their players he is AWOL for the net 6 games

HALF-TIME: Stoke 1-0 Everton
Les Roopanarine's HT snap-shot: "It's a familiar story for Everton, who have created the lion's share of the chances only for Stoke to produce the game's one truly incisive moment, which came when Kenwyne Jones headed home an excellent cross from Matthew Etherington."
Stoke sghould have had at least another one when Fuller fluffed his shot wide. Cahill should have scored, but I don't think we should be too upset by being down a goal based on the first 45 minutes. We have not created much.
