Everton - Burnley
The last time Burnley came to the city of Liverpool, this happened. I am hoping for a tight win, but I can totally see a draw on the cards as well. Hopefully not a loss...
Re: Everton - Burnley
It ain't going to be a classic, is it? We're not going to be talking about this game in ten years' time. Or even ten minutes after the game ends.
So I'm going for Everton 3 (Sig pen, Tarkowski (og), Dobson (og)) Burnley 2 (Holgate (og), Dobson (og))

Re: Everton - Burnley
If there are 4 own goals (Dobson played for both clubs, and might just score if given the opportunity), I think we would talk about the game for quite a while afterwards.Rotterdam 1985 wrote:It ain't going to be a classic, is it? Having said that, we won't talk about it since it definitely won't be a classic. Sigh. I'd take a gritty 1-0 win.

You're right. I'll go for 0-0. We don't have a shot on target until the 83rd minute and even that's going wide until it cannons off Ben Mee's arse. Burnley don't have a shot on goal in the whole game. 86% of the commentary is focused on the subject of who will be in goal for England in the summer.
It's the sort of game I wish was the early Saturday kickoff. Get it out of the way as a necessary but burdensome commitment, and then proceed with the rest of your weekend. Instead it's primetime. Who scheduled that? Whoever at Sky decided that Everton v Burnley would be essential teatime viewing has clearly been overpromoted. This game should kick off 3.55am on a Thursday in June.
Is James going to honour us with his presence tomorrow? He reminds me of the mate who you always arranged to meet in the pub but who never turned up. Every Friday you'd tell him where you'll all be. "Yeah no worries, I'll be there, looking forward to it." And he's great, a good laugh. But he'd only turn up on one in four occasions, and even then would leave early.
Note that I'm using the past tense there. Harking back to the days when pubs were actually a legitimate social option.

Nice.
It actually annoys me that I'm sat here contemplating tactics and formations we should employ to deal with FUCKING BURNLEY so I'm just going to go look at some porn instead.
