Re: Moise Kean - doesn't want to be blue
Everton striker Moise Kean is poised to join Paris St-Germain on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old Italy international has failed to make an impact on Merseyside since joining Everton in a £27m deal from Juventus in the summer of 2019.
He will now try to re-ignite his career at PSG, who are understood to have an option to buy Kean at the end of his loan period.
Kean has played four times for Everton this season, scoring two goals.
He was a late substitute in three of those four games and only started the EFL Cup game against Salford City.
Last season, Kean made 33 appearances for the Goodison Park club but only managed two goals, which were both in the league.
Everton said they were "appalled" after images emerged appearing to show Kean at a party during the coronavirus lockdown earlier this year.
He was also dropped from the squad as a disciplinary measure last year after being late for a team meeting for the second time.

Re: Moise Kean - doesn't want to be blue
This is a bust similar to Sandro, but in this case it's arguably even more disappointing since he was hailed as one of the biggest rising stars when we bought him.
Re: Moise Kean - doesn't want to be blue
Well, like Sandro, it's all very well bringing in these promising players but unless you give them a chance, they can't show what they capable of. Kean might of appeared 33 times but almost always as a sub. Why not give him a run out against Fleetwood, or at the end of last season when we had nothing to play for?
And who does that leave us with if DCL gets injured? Surely Kean is a better bet than Tosun or Niasse?

Done deal... now we need another striker as cover for DCL
Everton striker Moise Kean will spend 2020/21 with Paris Saint-Germain after completing a season-long loan move to the French champions.
Italy international Kean joined Everton from Juventus in August 2019 and has scored four goals in 37 appearances – nine starts – for the Club in all competitions.
The 20-year-old has netted twice this season, in Carabao Cup ties against Salford City and Fleetwood Town, and appeared from the bench in Everton’s Premier League victories over Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion last month.

I'm assuming we have someone lined up for tomorrow or we are suicidally short up front. Tosun injured and Niasse useless. Please not Llorente!!

Re: Moise Kean - doesn't want to be blue
If DCL gets injured, it would have to be Richie up front with either Bernard or Iwobi on the wing.
Or we have a striker about to come in on a transfer.

Ellis Simms? I genuinely have no idea if he's good enough, but I had assumed he'd go out on loan somewhere this window.

Sign him! Oh wait, he's already with us you say? OK, get him on the bench!Rotterdam 1985 wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:If DCL gets injured, it would have to be Richie up front with either Bernard or Iwobi on the wing.

Everton forward Moise Kean scored twice as Paris St-Germain recovered from losing Neymar to injury to beat Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League.
PSG were not at their best but went ahead in the second half when Kean, on loan from the Toffees, headed in.
Neymar had gone off midway through the first half after appearing to pull a muscle.
Kean then got his second with a fine finish on the turn inside the box.

Had an assist and got a penalty today for PSG against RB Leipzig. The highlights were rather limited, but he looked like the player we thought we bought, so maybe there is still a chance he'll come good for us (next season).

I guess it's win/win for us. We either recoup the money we paid (or even make a profit) for a player who wants to leave, or we get a player back who scored goals regularly for a top European club.

Re: Moise Kean - doesn't want to be blue
We need competition for DCL (and Richie), so we need to get at least another striker in before too long.Armchair wrote:Made 4 Gwladys wrote:Everton's Italy striker Moise Kean, 20, has opened the door to a permanent move to Paris St-Germain after a positive start to his loan spell with the French champions. Paris St-Germain are in negotiations with Everton to turn 20-year-old Italy forward Moise Kean's season-long loan into a permanent deal, worth about £31m.

it makes me wonder why a club with the stature of PSG will pay 31M for a player who was total shite for us...Blue gazza wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Paris St-Germain are in negotiations with Everton to turn 20-year-old Italy forward Moise Kean's season-long loan into a permanent deal, worth about £31m.

Paris St-Germain, winners of the French Cup for five of the last six seasons, reached the last 32 of the competition by edging past Ligue 2 side Caen.
On-loan Everton striker Moise Kean scored the winner for Mauricio Pochettino's side in the second half to take his tally to 12 for the campaign

We should sign him
Re: Moise Kean - doesn't want to be blue
He played the full 90 minutes in the league for us only once. In total, he was only given an hour or more of playing time in the league on 6 occasions for Everton.
(Jesus, I am turning into Statto...)
So he wasn't really given a chance. Maybe he got a bit gobby about that, and was shipped out, on the assumption that it was only a matter of time before Tosun morphed into Batistuta. Seems a bit weird, that he did well for Juventus, is thriving at PSG yet we felt we could only trust him with 15 minutes here and there.
That said - and I say this as someone who was very happy when we signed him, as I'd seen a bit of him in Italy - he did have that annoying habit when he did play for us, of trying too much all the time. A clever flick or a rabona that didn't come off, when all he needed to do was to keep it simple, at least occasionally. Maybe that came from him knowing he only had 15 minutes and so needed to look extra-special.
Whatever, something has gone badly wrong with the man-management here somewhere. Can't see him wanting to head back to his bedsit in Dingle having had a year in the City of Love winning the Champions League. A shame.

Juventus are willing to offer Everton a players-plus-cash deal to lure Italian forward Moise Kean, 21, back to the club.
