One dodgy moment v Ukraine but watching Unai Simon and Donnarumma last night makes me grateful that we have Jordan.
Not his finest moment tonight - some poor distribution and unforced errors. He's still having a good tournament though.
Did you see how clever the Dane's second wall was?
They set up 3 men along side England's wall, and left a gap for Pickford to see through.
Then, just as the kick was about to be taken, they shifted sideways, very craftily to fill the gap, and obscure JP's vision completely.
Simple and something I've not seen before.
Rafa take note.

For the Danish goal, first of all Damsgaard's technique was brilliant. To side-foot it with that power and dip, that's a rare talent to possess.
Funny thing about Pickford is that one of the beefs I've had with him in recent years is when he doesn't trust his wall. A couple of times for us he's tried to second-guess the free-kick taker, moved over to the "wall" side of his goal, and got done on "his" side. Tonight he didn't do that, and if anything his starting position was probably a couple of feet too far to his left.
By his shot-stopping standards, I was disappointed he let that in. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was a mistake though. The free-kick was just the right distance to get it up and over the wall, and sometimes we're better off just praising brilliant technique rather than nit-picking over what the keeper could and should have done.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is interested in Everton's England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, 27. The Italian is said to be lining up a replacement for 35-year-old Frenchman Hugo Lloris, who is in the final year of his contract at Spurs. (Mirror)

Made Garth Crook's team of the week. I can't imagine many Everton players have made his weekly team this season.

Not sure this statement from the BBC gossip mill makes that much sense, but anyway.
Everton are prepared to sell Jordan Pickford, 28, to fund a summer rebuild. Tottenham and Newcastle are monitoring the England goalkeeper's situation.
Re: 1 - Jordan (Engerland No1) Pickford
Pretty much a total 180 compared to the post above....
Is he willing to sign a new long-term contract with us though? Or is the possible appeal of the CL too much to resist?

Agreed. Also the international break helps us here - if we're lucky, Pickford will only miss two games, plus the Nations League stuff.
One report said 3/4 weeks. If it turns out to be 3, he could be back for the Southampton game.
Re: 1 - Jordan (Engerland No1) Pickford
Jordan Pickford is fit and available for Saturday's clash with Southampton at St Mary's (3pm BST).
Everton head to the south coast this weekend looking to build momentum following a morale-boosting victory over West Ham United last time out.
The international break following that win over the Hammers has allowed both goalkeeper Pickford and striker Calvert-Lewin extra time to recover from thigh and knee complaints respectively.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, manager Frank Lampard revealed Pickford is ready to start again, while Calvert-Lewin's involvement is under consideration as the 25-year-old strives to regain peak condition.

Ridiculous, anyone remember any errors he made for England?

Yeah, incredibly tiresome. Although from an Everton point of view, let Pickford sit on the bench for England, we don't need to risk him in a mid-season world cup. I ain't that bothered as I don't see England doing anything much.
I'm right browned-off with him for that fuck up at the weekend though.
Re: 1 - Jordan (Engerland No1) Pickford
Chelsea will watch Everton and England's Jordan Pickford at the World Cup as owner Todd Boehly looks for a new goalkeeper.
Re: 1 - Jordan (Engerland No1) Pickford
Aston Villa are monitoring the situation of Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, with the 28-year-old yet to sign a new deal with just over a year remaining on his current contract at Goodison Park.
Re: 1 - Jordan (Engerland No1) Pickford
Why didn't we renew his contract 12 months ago? It would be very 'Everton-like' to spend £30m on a player and have him leave for nowt.

Re: 1 - Jordan (Engerland No1) Pickford
A recent report from the Daily Mail has claimed that Pickford’s future is now shrouded in doubt as the Everton hierarchy are ‘yet to sign off’ on the new five-year contract he agreed before the World Cup.
It’s believed that the former Sunderland ace is happy to sign a new deal but that no reason has been provided for the delay.
And the impasse is said to have alerted Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea to his possible availability with all three clubs potentially in the market for a new goalkeeper.
Everton supporters will surely be eager for Pickford to remain at the club for the foreseeable future given his importance to Frank Lampard’s side, yet a conclusion to the confusing situation doesn’t appear to be in sight at this moment in time.

Are the board thinking we should cash in in January and use the money to strengthen elsewhere?

Spurs would be absolutely mad not to go after Pickford. Lloris with another poor game against the Arse. It's only halftime, so he might have more clangers still.
