Re: Everton v Bournemouth
We just need to score a goal, which we very nearly have, and not concede, which we’ve been ok with. It’s still in our hands. COYB.

Thinking about it earlier, one thing struck me as being pretty important tomorrow, and that's don't concede early. Get to half-time 0-0, that's absolutely fine. Don't turn Goodison into a pit of worry by going 1-0 down early on. We want the crowd to be hopeful and encouraging, not angry and disparaging. Don't give Leicester and Leeds (and Bournemouth, for that matter) any more encouragement than they need.
Not looking good as it stands at HT, but there's a long way to go, no need to man the panic stations yet. We can't control what Leicester do. I'm very happy we didn't concede in that first half (the Tarko fuck-up was a warning and a huge let-off.)

we surely need a focal point (Simms).. and bombard him with service from wide... even if he makes a nuisance Duke may pick up the pieces.Rotterdam 1985 wrote:Rotterdam 1985 wrote:

I'm really not sure about that. He's not a great hold-up striker and not great in the air for his size (from what I've seen of him anyway.)
I've said before that Bournemouth are bad at dealing with crosses but that only works for us if we have the personnel to make it work for us. I sometimes think we'd be better off with the likes of Iwobi and Gray, when they have the ball in the channels, cutting in and shooting, rather than crossing it.
We do have a modicum of control in midfield at the moment, with the three in there and Gueye in particular doing his job well. I wouldn't change anything for 15-20 minutes yet.

well, he is a striker.... or Mina in the Yankthattoffee role .... we can bring Keane on to shore up the hole in the back that's left.Rotterdam 1985 wrote:Made 4 Gwladys wrote:we surely need a focal point (Simms).. and bombard him with service from wide... even if he makes a nuisance Duke may pick up the pieces.Rotterdam 1985 wrote:Rotterdam 1985 wrote:
