Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
The 2020 season is finally about to begin for us. Spurs away is no easy task. Can we hope for a draw to frustrate Mourinho to tears on the sideline?
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
I'd be happy with a draw. I wonder how many of the new boys we'll see.

Same here (about the draw). I would assume that Allan and Doucoure would walk straight in to the team. But I have been wrong many times before.Armchair wrote:I'd be happy with a draw. I wonder how many of the new boys we'll see.

And can a Mod change the title of this category? It's shown as 2018-2019 season.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
All three signings from the last week are starting - well, I am getting rather excited!
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
Substitutes, in case someone was curious, Kenny, Sigurdsson, Walcott, Bernard, Davies, Kean, Virginia.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
With James Rodriguez, Allan, Yerry Mina and Richarlison all starting, Everton are fielding four South American players in a starting XI for the first time in the Premier League.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
This is rather depressing to read.
Hugo Lloris has been at Spurs so long he remembers the last time Everton beat them.
Lloris was in his first few months with Tottenham when the Toffees scored two late goals to win 2-1 at Goodison Park in December 2012.
Since then the sides have met 15 times. Everton haven't won a single one.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
We are setting up the team pretty high, not too afraid to just sit back.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
Richie is the one who keeps on losing possession. Rodriguez has a good touch and eye for the play.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
We look like a frekken awesome team, moving the ball around with ease, Spurs not getting a sniff of the ball.

CLOSE!
Tottenham 0-0 Everton
If the Spurs fans were in they'd be on their side's back a bit here.
And Everton should be ahead! Ben Davies plays a horror of a crossfield pass, Richarlison does superbly to get there, go round Hugo Lloris but then shoots wide while off balance.
Open goal! And he had a man in the middle. Should have squared that.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
That miss from Richie was simply embarrassing, extremely selfish as well. Terrible.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
More on that miss.

Wow, what a miss.
Richarlison has done everything unbelievably well, he took it round Hugo Lloris, sent him for a bag of fish and chips and is about to lose his footing when shooting and skied it.
Carlo Ancelotti has his head in his hands.
Re: Spurs - The Mighty Toffees
End to end stuff there for a moment, Spurs with a great chance, Coleman heads it clear, the counter is on and it ends with Rodriguez taking the shot but it's a fluffed effort.
