England Under-20 goalkeeper Russell Griffiths has joined Cheltenham Town on a loan deal from Everton.

The 20-year-old joined fellow loan recruit Easah Suliman at Seasons on Thursday morning and is set to make his Football League debut against Leyton Orient on Saturday.

There was a delay in registering the paperwork at Everton's end, hence the deal that was agreed and signed-off by Cheltenham on Thursday only went through on Friday morning.

A regular in the Toffees' Under-21 side, Griffiths has spent time out on loan with both Northwich Victoria and FC Halifax Town.

He has been on the bench for the Blues in the Europa League and for eight Premier League games covering for either Tim Howard or Joel Robles.

Like Suliman, he has agreed an initial six-month loan deal.
