Premier League: Tottenham v Everton (Postponed)

Opening day of the season. Ice creams aplenty and burnt faces. Managers using hands as visers to block out the sun. Lush green surfaces to play on. New players on show. Grumpy players who wanted out sit stone faced on the bench. Everton galaxy of new stars bedded in and ready to perform. Football is back and not too soon. The story of the game may hinge on who Spurs manage to hold onto and who Everton can find. An injury free pre-season would help also. Anyway a nervy starts for Spurs as Everton take advantage of low expectations. Baines and <new signing> to score for the Blues. 1-2 win.

High expectations at Spurs, but key players want out. Europa nights beckon for the overpaid chumps who have even less chance than the Shite of challenging for the Top 4 this season. Everton field exactly the same team as last season and carry on the way they left off. 0-3 to the mighty Blues - an Arteta free kick, a Beckford bobble and a Cahill classic at the far post.

I knew my plan would work! Carefully placed members of my domestic staff attacking Curry's, Sports Direct and Mothercare leading to a postponement of the match until we are on fire (if you pardon the pun) in May, with the extra benefit of a nice new telly, a pair of Nikes, and pair of OshKosh Mr Men dungarees.

If the game is postponed at least all the new signigns will have more time to get to know thier new teammates.
