They should have kept this quiet untill mid July, at least we would have a summer signing to get our hopes up

I've known about this for some time as will have most of you here, and the first thing that struck me was the age of the guy, meaning he probably hasn't been brought in to provide attack for the first team. When we look at how many players Moyes has signed in similar circumstances, will we ever get to see this lad, or will he rot in the reserves like the others until his deal expires?

well my view is that if Moyes thinks he is good enough - he is old enough... I think Moyes is probably a better footie manager than any of us on the board...so will rely on his judgement

It could be the next Moyes master stroke. Rejoice and be blue.

Aye, 6 foot 2 as well. This could be the "Bargain of next Season"
Or he could be rubbish. Either way £500k seems an acceptable ammount to find out.

Only 12.5 stone. At 6ft 2, isn't that a little slender?
Castello's left leg weighed more than that.

That's what I thought - my extra 2 inches (in height...) apparently add four and a half stone to my weight. But then again I'm not exactly built like an athlete....

We seem to be collecting strikers, not unlike Spurs collecting midfielders.
Saha, Yakubu, Anichebe, Vaughan, Jutkeiwicz, Agard, Baxter, Beckford and now Silva.
Can any of them play in goal?

I agree. If he deos OK but not great, he'll have a decent sell on value.anticipate_the_pass wrote:Tonteau wrote:Every cloud has a Silva signing.

Re: 29: Joao Silva - The Next Pauleta (no!)
Many of us knew this lad had signed a long time ago, so it seems that like normal, things take weeks before Everton confirm anything. Expect another 6 players to be announced with 3 minutes of the window remaining regarding players we signed this morning, and one that we were too late for and missed the window, who signed this afternoon.
