Re: 16: Jermaine Beckford - Fox in the Box
was about to post this
Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford looks set to join Everton at the end of the season after manager Simon Grayson intimated that a pre-contract agreement is in place. "Pre-contract agreements aren't binding, so both parties could pull out at any time," said Grayson in the Sun. "If he bangs in another 20 goals, there might be bigger teams than Everton coming in for him."

Fuck off. In fact, shove the useless arrogant cunt Beckford up your arse and then fuck off.
(will be eating words when Beckford scores 40 for us next season)

IMHO I think he would score 20+ in the Championship, but would be lucky to get 5 in the Premier League.

He gave Wes Brown a torrid time in the FA Cup game, but then that was the FA Cup and it was Wes Brown.

Moyes will sort out any attitude problems that might exist and won't tollerate any nonsense or lazyness.

I'd actually rather have Earnshaw.
Re: 16: Jermaine Beckford - Fox in the Box
He's 26 so no eager spring chicken there. Cant say I've seen a whole lot of him. Smaller teams (like Leeds) raise there games against Premiership opposition (we signing anyone from Carlisle?) so the Utd game wouldnt have been enough to judge him on. I would have thought Championship would his next move up but I will trust Moysie's judgement on this one.
Hope he's not Saha's replacement!

Re: 16: Jermaine Beckford - Fox in the Box
he's not as good as he thinks he is, and he's 26, not exactly a developing talent - as a free squaddie I'm ok with it, but if we have paid as much as a packet of winegums I'll be a bit miffed....
Re: 16: Jermaine Beckford - Fox in the Box
If he can run into space (onto through balls basically) then he might be worth a free punt, the way the team has been playing recently we have been crying out for someone who can do it, the midfield seem to be drawing centre backs out of position and have Billy or Pienaar go into the space and try and cause havoc.
We will see I suppose.

Re: 16: Jermaine Beckford - Fox in the Box
Moyes must see something he likes in him. I honestly haven't seen anything of him really apart from a couple of highlights from the United game where he looked quick and sharp and one game from League 1 where he scored a great goal but not before elbowing some guy in the face like a proper shithouse. Time will tell, I suppose.

Re: 16: Jermaine Beckford - Fox in the Box
Can't help but be a bit dubious about him, but you'd hope he'll realise we're the biggest club he'll ever play for, so hopefully ditch his 'I'm the man' attitude which seems to be generally publicised.
This bit from Wiki made me chuckle though,
Just hope he isn't a replacement for Saha though, and if he is, that he's late to the big time like Teddy Sheringham and Kevin Phillips, rather than DJ Campbell.
This bit from Wiki made me chuckle though,
In his post-match interview, Beckford won the hearts of Leeds fans by declaring that he had no intentions of leaving the club. When posed the question "Where do you see your own future?", he replied "What shirt am I wearing, bruv? You bein' serious?". The phrase has since been well publicised and T-shirts bearing the quotation can be purchased in the official club store.

Just goes to show 'big' these days means clubs who have more money or who are prepared or able to get into more debt. What's 'big' about money? (cue photoshops of massive dollar bills or pound coins)

He's 26? Hmmm.... I wonder what this means when it comes to Vaughan and Anichebe, clearly the fringe players in the squad among the strikers.Coleman's mustard wrote:He's 26 so no eager spring chicken there. Jo's replacement. I think Ani will be on his way anyway. That leaves us with the Yak, Vaughan and Beckford (assuming Saha leaves). Suddenly it doesn't look that great any more, although if Beckford has any sense he'll see that as an opportunity to play as opposed to being a bench warmer / reserve at a 'big' club.

Couldn't agree more. Saha worries me. He seemed very happy to be here at first, and now he seems to be after the big cash. Vic and Vaughan's futures are rather uncertain to say the least.BAAAXXXTTTERRRRRRR!!!!!!! wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:He's 26? Hmmm....
