HT, 1-0.
Not surprising I suppose, but not too much happening from what I gather based on the BBC live text.

Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
We look like we came to defend and hope to hit them on the break, except everone went up for the corner and we got done on the break. Can't really see a way back in from here.

Really shows how thin the squad is and how big a player Dom is for us. Simms barely got a sniff. Tough game to make your debut in.

Whoever it was that failed to recruit any players in the January window is responsible for relegating us.

Home to Leeds then Villa will decide if we go or not.hairy cataract wrote:Tonteau wrote:Really shows how thin the squad is and how big a player Dom is for us. Simms barely got a sniff. Tough game to make your debut in.

FT 2-0 .. I thought we were very poor against a very poor shite team.
oh well ... 4 points on the tipster for me.
how many times have we said it... but MUST beat Leeds & Villa now

The fact that we struggle mightily to score goals is a massive worry. It's one thing to concede a goal here and there, but fooking hell, we can't score.
Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Can't say I'm that optimistic regarding the next two must win games either.
Sigh.
Sigh.
Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Liverpool are probably better than they’ve shown the past few games and we’re certainly worse than we showed against Arsenal. However it was fine margins at times. If Tark buries that first chance (or if McNeill does something other than the absolute worst thing he could have done with the rebound, like even skied it into row z) then we don’t get done for the first goal, also if Pickford hadn’t come and decided to claim an imaginary ball that only he could see we also don’t concede that. Once that went in it felt kind of inevitable. We look a better team than we did under Francis Lampard Junior, but the errors are still there. Felt we had some decent approach play but what are you supposed to do with no serious forwards. Tom Davies getting on the end of a chance you feel even he could put on target just summed it up. We still tried to keep playing it but felt rather futile at times. What you’d give for 6’4” Beto from Udinese and some rapid winger from wherever to give us just a tiny bit more cutting edge.

Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Right, I'm over that now. Never expected to win, didn't watch it, so wasn't disappointed.
Three points from games against Arsenal and The Shite? Yes please thank you very much.
Over to Dyche now to get the players prepared for Saturday, then up to us to get Goodison rocking like it was against Arsenal. Beat Leeds and we're out of the bottom three. Do that, and our fate is in our own hands.

Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Same old shite, nobody turned up tonight. Every time the media stokes the fires from hell they turn up. Who was going to score for us tonight as Tarkowski played his worst game in an Everton shirt ,he wasn’t on his own, Gana Gueye made one forward pass the whole game whilst McNeil lived up to his reputation being garbage.felt sorry for Ellis Simms up on his own out of his depth with no support but, the squad is good enough according to Sean Dyche. We don’t play well without DCL because we got no other option .
Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Watched it in a pub in rural Yorkshire with a load of plastic Kopites who sounded like Fred Truman.
That was pretty bad. I know it may have been different if the Tarko header went in but even before that, I was already thinking that everything we did well against Arsenal, we weren't doing tonight. A yard slower all over the pitch, too many mistakes, too many poor passes.
No need to get too depressed, just as there was no point getting too excited after the Arsenal game. It's just a bump in the road, still a lot of games to be played.

Going into that match, we had nothing to lose. In the relegation zone, away to one of the best / most expensive squads in Europe.
The Shite have been shite this season. They were at home in the derby, they desperately needed to win this. It was their Cup Final. And we know what a good cup team they are.
They're so proud of their victory that Klopp is calling it a "statement" - to beat the team which is currently 3rd from bottom.
I'm still p***ed off though.
Looking on the bright side, it means they won't sack Klopp this season, and they'll continue limping along, hoping to snatch 7th place from Fulham or even 6th place from Brighton.
And the fact that many of us we went into this game with some hope also shows that we believe in Everton under Dyche.
P.S. Apologies for the first goal. I had intended not to follow the match, but then I remembered that I hadn't muted the notifications my phone, and yet it hadn't chimed. So I thought maybe it was a close game and might be worth following after all. So I picked up my phone... and "ping!"... the first goal went in.

Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Sure it has been said elsewhere. 2 weeks ago we faced Arsenal at home and the Shoite away. All of us given our position would have bitten our own arms off for two draws. After the matches we got 3 points so as far as I am concerned we are in better spot than we thought 2 weeks ago.
I am still realistic that we will not get close to 40 points and we are thus highly imperilled. To survive each year we just have run away from the "bear" faster than 3 others. Southampton and Bournemouth have two of the slots methinks.
The next 2 games are the Pyrenees. If we do well then we might not have to be so gloomy (still lot of work to do). If we do not then we face having to climb the Alps and the Himalayas... That is going to be very draining and nigh on impossible.

Very few times have I simply not watched any part of a live match. Oh well.
How did young Simms do? Tough debut.

He didn't do much, tbf. But it's hard to judge him. Won the odd ball but didn't find anyone with it. Get the feeling he's not a 'back to goal' striker/target man inspite of his height.

The term 'feeding off scraps' wouldn't even be fair.

The PL is about pace, and Gray is the only one with genuine speed, but does Dyche have any time for him?Goodison_Gringo wrote:Tonteau wrote:Yankthattoffee wrote:Very few times have I simply not watched any part of a live match. Oh well.

I would have thought 442 would include Gray and whoever else is fit/

Reading what Dyche has said, I don't think DCL will be fit any time soon. He's choosing his words carefully but he's talking about long term fitness rather than just fit for one match. We're absolutely fucked. Simms is nowhere near Premier League standard.
Without DCL, Gordon and Richarlison, this season's forward line is massively weaker than last season's. We'd have lost to Crystal Palace in "that" game with our current squad, I'm 100% certain of it.
I'm trying to stay positive but how the hell do we stay up?
