Lewis Warrington
Just a two minute vid from Twitter showing a few nice touches, some spatial awareness, and a couple of meaty tackles. Nothing to get carried away over but he looks tidy on the ball. (He's no. 19.)
This lad was on loan at Tranmere last year and appears to be highly-regarded. By all accounts Frankie wants him in the first team squad this season and has turned down options to send him out on loan again.
One to watch, perhaps. How convenient it would be right now, if a few of our kids got given a proper go and turned out to be alright.

Re: Lewis Warrington
Yes he looks tidy but nothing special so far. Really hope he does turn out to be a cracker because we simply can’t compete for the brilliant players in his age group like Onana - who Lille want £50m for - or unearth the unknowns for £5m like other clubs do. Even Brentford are seen as a more desirable destination than we are these days, yet there still seems to be a “big club premium” when we do go in for slightly lesser players.
Doomed etc

“The confidence of Lewis Warrington to accept the ball in midfield and play and move it was pleasing. It’s simple stuff but something we’ve not done so well since I’ve been here.”

Midfielder Lewis Warrington has joined Fleetwood Town on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
The 19-year-old Academy graduate moves to the League One club following encouraging progress with the Blues in recent months.
After catching the eye on loan at Tranmere Rovers last term, Warrington returned to the Club in the summer and penned a new two-year contract until the end of June 2024.
He impressed manager Frank Lampard during pre-season, featuring in Everton’s US tour matches and friendlies against Blackpool and Dynamo Kyiv.
Warrington was then given his First-Team debut last month when he came on as a substitute against Fleetwood Town in Everton’s 1-0 Carabao Cup second round win.

Re: Lewis Warrington
Seeing a bit of him against Stade Nyonais, I think this is a good move. He didn’t look like he’d be challenging for the first team this year.

Agreed, and CM is one area where we're fairly strong in terms of both numbers and quality. Plymouth went up to the Championship last year and have an ex-Everton fella (Stevie Schumacher) as manager. He's highly-regarded. So hopefully this will be a productive season for Warrington at a competitive level. I do think he's got a chance, that lad, and this is a way better option for his development than languishing in our U-21s or sitting on the bench.
