Crystal Palace v Everton
Lawro's prediction...
Crystal Palace v Everton (16:30 GMT)
Everton got a great result against Arsenal on Monday, and the way they got it - so late on and with such a good strike - will have lifted the whole club. Crystal Palace have hit a sticky patch of late, and have taken only one point from their past four games, including three defeats in row. But two of those losses came after they conceded late on and even against Manchester United last week they missed a really good chance with the score at 0-0. So the Eagles will be competitive, especially at home where they have only lost once under Patrick Vieira all season. But I just don't see Everton boss Rafael Benitez taking many risks here, because it would be such a big backwards step to lose this game after that win over the Gunners. Benitez will be absolutely determined not to be beaten, and I think he would take a draw now.
Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Re: Crystal Palace v Everton
Would have liked to go to this one but sadly I am slumming it in Tenerife at the moment, under hot sun and blue skies. Just had a swim and a shower and am sitting on the balcony in a hotel robe watching the sun set over the quaint fishing village of la caleta, where I will shortly be enjoying a large gin and tonic followed up some slap up tucker.
Of course I’ll be with you in spirit on Sunday. But in body I’ll be lying on a sun lounger by the pool.
1-4 to the Blues, goals for Gomes, gray, suncream and beachball, with their late consolation coming from an Ian Wright header

Sounds shit. Hope there's enough gin and tonic to get you through.

Re: Crystal Palace v Everton
I saw a picture of DCL on the training ground with a ball at his feet earlier, and while he obviously isn't ready to play yet, it still sent my new-found optimism soaring to even greater heights.
So, Palace 0 Everton 3 (Keane, Gray, Bilyaletdinov)

Re: Crystal Palace v Everton
Christian Benteke has to make do with a place on the Crystal Palace substitutes bench - one of three changes after last Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Manchester United.
Joel Ward returns to the side and is captain while Odsonne Edouard is back in. Like Benteke, Nathaniel Clyne and Jeffrey Schlupp drop to the bench.
Will Hughes is making his first Premier League start of the season.
Rafa Benitez also shuffles his pack despite seeing Everton return to winning ways last time out against Arsenal.
Yerry Mina and Allan are not involved at all while Anthony Gordon drops to the bench.
In come Mason Holgate, Fabian Delph and Andre Gomes.
Gomes is making his first Premier League start of the season.

Re: Crystal Palace v Everton
I dunno .. I always feel these are the type of games when we'll be tormented by the player that we should have signed... but didn't...
...so I'm expecting Zaha to be the star today
however Richie was hungry against Arse, so hopefully more of that may swing it our way

Well we haven't tested their defense so far. Their tiki taki out of their own area will be their downfall.

Good cross from Godfrey and volley from Gomes, but straight at the keeper.

Holgate will never learn ... if he'd connected there, even though the foul was against him.... he'd be off ..
