Re: Everton v Arsenal
we can probably make top 4 now
however...
36% possession at home says it all for me about why we struggle so much

Re: Everton v Arsenal
Well that felt fucking great, a reminder of what this godforsaken club does to my mood. I've just been to the shop and found myself whistling that wank Coldplay song from the BMW ad on the way in. I'll give myself a pass on that, given the circumstances.
I mean that second half was a ballsy performance, especially given the two disallowed goals, but this time we didn't throw in the towel. We have very little quality but we made up for it tonight with a bit of effort, which is all we can ever ask of players really. And the luck evened itself out, with their late misses and the Godfrey stamp. I cannot believe he wasn't sent off.
Apart from the goals my favourite moment was Coleman's injury time block, fully-exposing his cock and bollock area in order to stop the shot and to hell with the consequences for his manhood. He's well past his best but little things like that are needed to help us out of the mire.
Arsenal remain a bunch of fragile snowflakes. It never felt like they tried to finish us off at 1-0.

Something to smile about at last.
Gomes may not be the player he was, but we miss his composure. Hopefully he can stay fit. With DCL back fit we give ourselves a chance again. We just need to sort out the defence. Mina is a cut above the rest but he's rarely fit, and what is the deal with Digne then?

For me Richarlison put in a shift as did Gray but, unsung hero was Andre Gomes we missed him in the middle made a difference when he came on ,just hope he plays against Palace Sunday ,jeez that was one hell of a rollercoaster ride. Nerves gone shattered what ever can sleep a bit easy now.

Re: Everton v Arsenal
Gringo, Sef, the last two posts are spot-on. We need every ounce of quality we can get at the moment. Gomes in for Gordon (who reminds me of a right-footed Kilbane, a willing workhorse but not much else) in a midfield three, with Gray and Townsend either side of Richie is the best we've got until DCL is back.
Looks like Digne might have had a row with Rafa and got dropped. Annoying and badly-timed, as he's also a cut above most of this squad. We need them to sort that out sharpish.

For the few arseholes who left on 27 minutes....Feck off and don't come back.
Get a refund on your tickets and stay away. The Everton chants drowned anything you wanted to say, anyway.
For the guy who shouted at me that it was his right, go and book an appointment with a psychologist.
If you pay for a ticket each week to moan groan and boo, and knowing so before you even get to GP, get a shrink.
Tonight is what footy is all about.
A stereotypical night at GP full of grievance and emotion.
I used every bit of superstitious nonsense I could muster.
I had my wife wash the Derby game out of my blue skicoat, wore my jolly Christmas sweater, and took my nephew who has never seen us lose. I even had him swap seats at half time. It fecking worked, and I thank each of you for your good wishes.
and in case I was a bit vague, if you left on 27 minutes....Feck off and don't come back.

Only the second home game I've missed this season, so I'm a bit gutted not to have been there. It was an incredible watch on the telly, so I can only imagine what it was like in the ground.
There's no doubt the volume was raised after a few saddos walked out on 27 mins, so maybe we've got them to thank? Anyway, what a win. I'm still buzzing.

Gutted for you mate. I've never been a season ticket holder and even in the 80's and 90's, when I was younger and had fewer bills to pay, I still never got to more than about half of the home games per season.
In the 90's in particular, when we were tailing off from the glory days, I went through a period of picking the wrong games to go to. So, naturally I missed the 7-1 spanking of Southampton but went the following weekend when Sunderland turned us over. I missed the 6-2 Swindon game - instead me and my brother drove up through rain and hailstorms to watch Bolton put us out of the cup four days later. And - my favourite - missing a derby win due to other commitments the week before I watched the 5-1 Norwich disaster.
Much of our 1990's trauma was my fault, I now realise.
