Re: 15 - Asmir Begovic
Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has joined Everton on an initial 12-month contract with an option for a further year.
Begovic becomes the Blues’ second summer signing, following the arrival of winger Andros Townsend, and brings a wealth of top-level experience to Rafa Benitez’s squad.

Re: 15 - Asmir Begovic
Everton extend Begovic deal,
Everton have activated a clause in Asmir Begovic's contract to extend it by one year,
The Toffees have also offered a new contract to Begovic's goalkeeper team-mate Andy Lonergan.

Re: 15 - Asmir Begovic
United have targeted Everton's Bosnian goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, 35, as a potential backup to Spain international David de Gea following the departure of Dean Henderson to Nottingham Forest.
Re: 15 - Asmir Begovic
Begovic has left after his contract expired.
Coady staying, I could take or leave, but I'm a little bit disappointed at this news. He's 35, I think, and is a good, experienced keeper to have in reserve. Especially after watching Joel Robles in goal for Leeds down the stretch and realising he was even worse than Meslier. Another 1-year deal would have been nice here.
We have a good few young keepers on the books, so maybe this is good news in the sense that one of them might be ready for bench duty. I would imagine Dyche would want to bring in an experienced head from somewhere though.

I was surprised as well, especially considering that his wages are probably somewhat reasonable.Rotterdam 1985 wrote:Begovic has left after his contract expired.

There has to be a backup plan for the #2 goalie. Besides, I wouldn't be surprised it teams like Spurs, Man Utd even, were to come after Pickford.
