Swansea v Everton (Relegation threatened Tour - Game 1)
And so Everton's run-in tour of relegation threatened teams (bar the most meaningless TV moved game of all time against Newcastle) begins with trip to relegation threatened Swansea. Oh, how glad Sigurdsson must be not to playing for a basement battling outfit, safe in the knowledge that mid table mediocrity is secure and he can concentrate on getting fit for the World Cup.
With the team's obvious trepidation of coming over the half way line and find that mythical promised land of the oppositions penalty area, don't expect many goals. Hopefully a famous Big Sam '0-0 win' is on the cards. At least he will take the pressure off the beleaguered players by defending his right to blame them for not doing what he asked of them which is basically nothing.
Insider stats:
If David Klaassen doesn't play, it will the 33 game in a row he hasn't been ready to be risked.
If Wayne is substituted after 57 minutes, it will be the 3rd game in a row he'll have call Sam a fat c**t on the way off the field.
If Everton fail to score it will be 29th time this season I won't watch MOTD.

The Liverpool was again a heartless equipment, without ideas nor criterion. A victim who died yesterday at the hands of her eternal rival, the Everton.

Re: Swansea v Everton (Relegation threatened Tour - Game 1)
At least the game against the Shite was fun - or at least it was for me. Met up at an Irish pub with about a dozen Evertonians, including some from Liverpool. Started drinking 20 oz beers at 7AM (game kick-off was at 5:30AM, but the pub can't serve alcohol until 7AM). By lunchtime we were three sheets to the wind.
Not sure I care too much about this Swansea game.

To be fair as well you had benefitted from a couple of training runs (I even hear that you went to a low altitude coastal training camp just to make sure you could handle the going...)

It goes to show how important it is to have a good coach.Da Judge wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:At least the game against the Shite was fun - or at least it was for me. Seen this little nugget of information and thought I would share it with you handsome gentlemen.
Since Sam Allardyce took charge at Everton, the Toffees have had 57 shots on target in the #PL – only Swansea (51) have managed fewer in that time

Keane with the back pass of the season, holy crap, Pickford end up heading the ball out for a throw-in in lieu of conceding a corner.

Ayew sooooo close to scoring on the counter, Baines with the deflection to take the ball out for a corner.
And from the corner, Tosun literally heads the ball off the line.

Or as per the BBC:
CLOSE!
Swansea 0-0 Everton
How Swansea have failed to score here is beyond me. First there is an overload - four players against three - and Jordan Ayew's low shirt squirms through Leighton Baines' legs and wide for a corner.
That comes in and Cenk Tosun scrambles to clear a header off his line! The game suddenly blown right open - but no crucial breakthrough yet.
Re: Swansea v Everton (Relegation threatened Tour - Game 1)
Wow, a thru ball carving us open, Ayew could have had 2.
And we have a home ref...

Are we playing like a team who know there are going to be changes next season, and are looking forward to watching the WC?
