Manchester City V Everton
Premier League fixture, Monday 21st August, 20.00 BST
On Sky Sports Premier League / Sky Sports Main Event / Sky Sports Ultra HD
Everton go into this match without conceding a goal in all competitions (4 games).
The Toffees got a point at Etihad Stadium last season with a classic counter-attacking display - defending in numbers and attacking on the break through Romelu Lukaku, who got their goal in exactly that fashion. I'm sure Ronald Koeman will try the same tactic this time, but without Lukaku they pose a lot less of a threat.
Ronald Koeman will give record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson every chance to prove his fitness to face Manchester City on Monday.
I would love to watch this in Ultra HD, but I as yet don't have a 4k TV.
Lawro predicts a 2-0 win to Man City. Who the fcuk are Man City anyway.

0-4 to the Royal Blues, Lookman to play upfront as a lone striker and get a hattrick, Davies to pitch in with a chip over their keeper.
Re: Manchester City V Everton
The first real test of the season.
OK so the 4 wins and 4 clean sheets in a row might have been against less testing opponents, but it will breed confidence at the back. We've looked better with each game that's gone by too.
I don't think we'll win, but could see us getting a point.
1-1

Clean sheet to continue (what odds would we get for no goals conceded until new year?)
0-1

Anyone that thinks Pickford is going to concede a goal is a closet Kopite.

I just noticed on Toffeeweb that William Hill have odds of 10/1 against Everton winning. Tenner on that please Mr Hill.

Re: Manchester City V Everton
can't bet on Everton to win as it would give me heartache twice, once when we lost and then again when my bet lost. Besides, a win against City would be worth a lot more than £100 to me, it would be priceless.
It's going to be tight though, so I'm changing my forecast from 4-0 to 1-0 with Rooney to score.

Is Sigurdsson due to start tonight? 225/1 for him to score the only goal of the game. Amusingly, these are much longer odds than for him to score first and for us to lose 4-1 still (125/1).

Bastards! Thing is, I've got a load of dosh sitting in my William Hill account cos I won big time on my General Election bets. So I'm working my way through the money with long-odds bets. I've got a fiver on Big Dunc to be the next Dr Who's companion.
Re: Manchester City V Everton
4 successive clean sheets ---- 3-0 it is then
I hope that Sigursssonnn has the same impact as Barry's debut and it's a scrappy 1-0 win

Re: Manchester City V Everton
If we play like we did against Split we can definitely win this... 1-0 to the toffees for me

Right before the game starts I am turning off my cell phone and will not follow the game on the BBC and on here - I am recording the game back at the house and will watch it tonight. I hope it's not for nothing.
Re: Manchester City V Everton
I'm really interested to see what the team is tonight and the formation.
Just hope I get a good stream

hmm possibly... but sitting deep on a 2-0 lead ensuring the opposition don't score works well for meKnight of Thorgothshire wrote:Slight correction.Made 4 Gwladys wrote:If we play like we did against Split in the first half we can definitely win this... 1-0 to the toffees for me
