I hope we play with great intensity during that time.

Just back to airport there - Naisse was muck. Was game and chased everything but looked liked we plucked him from Northern League. We were hopelessly out of shape with Besic at right back. Despite mistake for goal Pennington looked impressive. Dowels late cameo looks good as well. We only got our shape when Hibbo came on and then Rom who could hold up ball. Pretty dull as expected although the reception for the Hillsborough families before the game was spine tingling.

So, Robby, you should have employed Hibbo as your defensive coach!
A master class on tackling, telling the midfielder where he should be when the opposition has the ball, laying off a simple but effective forward ball, and knowing when to pull it back when needed.
Beaten just once, but the old terrier can keep the job for the next 3 games.

Match ratings.

Howard: 6
Couldn't be faulted for goal. Didn't fanny around with ball either. Just booted clear when needed

Baines: 6
Crossing and dead ball deliveries were poor. Doesn't look like he is enjoying his football, almost as if a little bit of him died the moment Mirallas took that penalty off him last season. Will struggle to make England squad but took goal really well. Hopefully will give him a shot of confidence but firm crowd favourite.

Stones: 7
Decent game mixing up short passing with some welcome long kicks up the field when necessary. Made a few eye catching raids up the field too. No silly risky manoeuvres either. Would love to see stay and develop under a proper coach.

Pennington: 7
Unlucky for goal, another day it could have been a free but was caught in wrong side of Wilson. However grew into game after that and can play a bit too. Looks a decent prospect but will benefit from continued loan spells down the league.

Besic: 4
Not fair to be overly harsh on him but clearly not a right back. Neither had the discipline or desire to maintain his position and beaten easily on the outside but shouldn't have been there in first place. Hooked at the break

Gibson: 6
Tried to get things going with some decent long and short passing but either through lack of fitness and match sharpness many of them went astray. Worth holding on to for the moment.

McCarthy: 5
Bit of an enigma. Played ahead of Gibson but went largely missing in congested middle third. Seem to drift out of game for long periods but then then would pop up with lung bursting run and challenge on the edge of our box. Covers the ground well but largely ineffectual. Should be more demanding of him at this stage of his career.

Lennon: 6
Never seen a guy trap so many balls instantly from a height. Great close control but largely ineffectual not helped by having Besic operating in same space and not as a partnership.

Cleverley: 5
Took his goal well but generally poor in open play after that. Crowd got on his back for some poor passing, especially in second half. Tried some close passing with Baines ard the edge of their box but doesn't have to ability of a Pienaar in those close confined spaces. Can't really see a future for him under a new manager but only really judging from today's game.

Barkley: 6
Struggled without having Lukaku to link up with. Drifted in and out of game, largely unsure whether to pass, dribble or shoot but not helped by lack of movement around him. Cut a frustrated figure throughout. A player that needs a good coach to put his arm around him and give his game some direction.

Naisse: 4
Bar one nice flick attempt at goal never got a sniff. Easily handled by Bournmouth centre halves, doesn't look like he can cut it in PL however always hard for new signing to bed into team that is performing poorly. Gut feeling is that he is a dud.

Subs:
Hibbert 7
On at half time for Besic thankfully and at least put in some good tackles to raise the crowd from their slumber. Got turned by trickier younger players a few times but solid display from veteran. A couple of "Shoot!!" when he got within 35 yards of goal too

Lukaku: 6
Not hard to look better then ineffectual Naisse but hold up play was good bringing others into game. Didn't get a shot on goal but shows what we missed for first 70 mins.

Dowell -
Not on long enough to rate but some nice touches and looks a confident player operating just behind the striker. Probably needs sent out on loan next season.

Manager: 4
The Besic decision was baffling, the Naisse decision to play him from start was understandable considering this was a nothing game but signs are not good. We look out of shape and ideas for most of game. Players got caught stranded up the field on numerous occasions as Bournemouth broke with pace.  I can't see what he was trying to achieve yesterday and on another day Bournemouth could have won by a couple. We neither looked like holding onto the lead or kicking on and scoring a few more. Time to go please

Baines - "almost as if a little bit of him died the moment Mirallas took that penalty off him last season"
Good observation that had eluded me until now.

Hibbo though, I'd have given an 8 to. Just his positioning alone and the instructions he was calling to the midfielder alongside him, proved a point.

Yeah I quite wasn't sure about Hibbo because I was down the other end near the Church so couldn't see everything he did clearly.
