Newcastle v Everton
Newcastle v Everton, 26th December (Boxing-Day) 2016, 17-30pm k/o at St James Park .shown live on BT Sport.
We are going into this Fixture needing to get back on track ,with 3 draws and a defeat in are last four games, Martinez needs to win this one.
with a busy period coming up against Stoke-Tottenham-Chelsea -Man City, Fixtures are going to get harder.
Everton are playing good slick football going forward, only problem is for Everton ? We need to score 4 or more goals to win, as are shaky defence has cost us too many points,
We needs Phil Jagielka back soon as possible to control are defence, Martinez has to grow a pair and finally drop Tim Howard,I would also consider Galloway in central defence instead of Fume Mori, Mirralas has to start for me with Kone on the bench, I would also leave Barkley on the bench, play Naismith behind Lukaku in a central role with Deufoleu on one wing and Mirallas on the other.
Its also time Everton done some training on set pieces, so F*ck off Graham Jones you Muppet.
0-2 Lukaku to keep rolling on scoreing .

Re: Newcastle v Everton
They will score, we will score. It just depends who scores the most.
Whatever happens, Bobby will be delighted with everything. Except the result probably.

I have said this time and time again, Martinez is a mid-table manager at best, why we have to put up with this mediocrity I don't know.
The last four games have really taken its toll on me, nothing will change my mind on Martinez, but, I was born, not manufactured so I shall still support the team.
Re: Newcastle v Everton
I think the team is very good on paper... the football is pleasant to watch... the results are terrible... 3 point from the last 12 is relegation form...sefton wrote:hairberto cataract wrote:They will score, we will score. It just depends who scores the most.

..not saying we're anywhere near that, but 3 from 12 is shite, especially give the opposition we've faced in recent weeks

That ugly twat Keown got it exactly right on MOTD. Pretty-boy Jenas was going "oh yes I'm happy with where Everton are this season" and ugly-boy was having none of it "I think they're underachieving" was his verdict. And we are.
But, timing is everything. Klopp has a worse record than Brenda with the same (expensive) players, yet the RS are blaming everyone except the Klown. But Bobby has had a couple of years to get to the same place that Klopp is at. This is Martinez's team. It's a good team. But the coaching is clearly abysmal.
I've said that I'd be happy with attractive, attacking football, a mid-table performance and a trophy. But I think I was wrong. I expect a little bit more from this side, because it is so clearly capable of it. As it is, we've had our purple patch and yet we've only come away with a couple of points from it. I can see a tough time looming now.
1-3, Hickson for us, hat trick for Kevin Keegan wins it for the Barcodes. BOOOOOO SACK BOBBY!

then I wil stay and watch it. The alternative might see me playing in an over-40s v under 19s rugby match and I'm perilously unfit.

Re: Newcastle v Everton
Such relief to get the winner in the dying seconds, literally. It looked like we had run out of time and ideas, and then the header. Very cleverly done (pun intended) on that header as well.
The subs made little sense to me. We need a driving force in the middle of the park and Barkley is subbed for Besic? Say what? Even though Ross was not the star of the game, he at least goes forward and with intend. Puzzling sub.
Anyway, we'll gladly take the drama at the end!

I think that pitch was very heavy. Geri couldn't get moving on it and neither could anyone else down the middle. Maybe with 3 games in 7 days he was finally rotating? Thought they should have been down to 9 or 10 men for the foul count in the first 45.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez to Match of the Day: "I think the manner we performed was pleasing. We knew Newcastle had been consistent in the last few games. We had a complete performance and created a huge number of good opportunities. To get it with the last kick of the game it feels good emotionally. I thought some of the play was magnificent at times. This is a real kick-start in our season."
