Everton vs West Brom
We have a lot to be proud of after the performance against the spammers. We played for an hour with 10 men, and still deserved to win the game. Gutted for Joel to be the one who missed the penalty after his heroics in the game, but I reckon he'll look back at the game with pride over all.
For three games now we've shown fighting spirit and a win is well on the way, Joel finally looking like a decent keeper and I'm tipping him to keep a clean sheet in this game.
2-0 with Naismith and Mirallas on the scoresheet.

Re: Everton vs West Brom
We need to carry on where we left off last night, and go out and take the Baggies to pieces. I think the season rests on this game - we're either going to destroy them, or we're in a relegation battle. I'd like to see us three up by half time, the crowd screaming, the players grinning, the Baggies crying.

if Kev, Nais, Luka, Stones (minus the mandatory stupid error), Coleman, Baines & Robles play like they did last night... we could really twat thesehairberto cataract wrote:We need to carry on where we left off last night, and go out and take the Baggies to pieces. After the thriller of the FA Cup, I just hope the result hasn't left the team subdued, playing like we did for 60 minutes with ten men, united the team more strongly.
Continue with that fighting spirit we can beat anyone on are day.
I can seriously see a team getting a good battering by us, West Brom or Palace or even the shyte, 4-0
lukaku brace-Mirralas-Naismith.

I'd be happy with that. Don't mind who starts from Nais/Barkley but the central position is the only one either should play.

Re: Everton vs West Brom
Barry needs to be used tactically. Last season he played a lot and looked good. This is largely because he'd spent the previous season at man city getting subbed on/off 15 or so times in the season, hence he looked fresher. We also need to manage him this way and maximise when his fouling is going to be most effectiove.

WTF, Barry is a lot older than Besic, whilst both attract the yellow cards Barry is too slow, Besic will get better.
when McCarthy is fit, would like to see him partner Besic rather than Barry.
Re: Everton vs West Brom
Besic reminds me a bit of Fellaini in his first season. Looks like he has raw talent, but is unsure how to play the English game. I fully expect him to boss the midfield next season.

IMO Barry is a quality player of international standard (but getting old)... Besic runs a lot but is League 1 standard...Sefton wrote:Made 4 Gwladys wrote:Barry, even though he's old is better than BesicGoodison_Gringo wrote:Tonteau wrote:Super wrote:

The gulf in talent between Besic & Barry is akin to the gulf between McFatty and Mirallas
it a no brainer as far as I'm concerned

Re: Everton vs West Brom
Everton winger Aiden McGeady is suspended following his red card in the FA Cup defeat at West Ham. Defenders Tony Hibbert and Sylvain Distin have a chance of making the squad after injury.
Saido Berahino is available for West Brom after his court hearing for drink-driving - originally scheduled for Monday - was brought forward. Defender Jonas Olsson has returned to light training but won't return for two weeks.
