I hate to mention the Rooney word, but Barkley playing further forward is looking a bit like Wayne when he first came into the side.

What's good is that everyone seems to be playing in their proper position. So Felli is in DM and Barkley is up front. And it's better.

Mirallas is trying to run the show. Will be very important this season. So many players look more comfortable in this system - Oviedo, Mirallas, Barkley, even Gibson is knocking around some nice balls. Pienaar has always played like this it's not new for him.

Barkley must have done enough to put him ahead of Vic and Jelli for a place upfront. Really is like a new signing. If he was a new signing, for £8m or so, we'd be delighted with what he's done so far.

Yes, but it's good for us to see how our new style copes with a dirty side. And so far, we've been fine.

Agree, I'd love to see more of that line-up but, at this stage, I would expect Bobby to make half a dozen changes. I'm buzzing on Barkley and Mirallas though.
