Nope, I don't think so.  You'd sack the Chief Exec and bring in someone who could recognise how shit his human resources director was, and who had the intelligence and experience to appoint better people around him.

The buck stops with Bobby.  There is surely enough evidence after nearly three years for Everton to realise things won't improve with him in charge. When there is a man underperforming at the very top of an organisation, you don't fiddle around with the staff below him in the hope of keeping him in a job. You pay him off, with thanks for his contribution.  In what other multi-million pound organisation would someone with Martinez's track record still be in his job?

NOt really the reality is you would sack the HR Boss...... (Although that is always difficult because those cunts run rings around you and you end up sacking the IT Director instead....) with a final warning from the Board Chairman that you hang by the skin of your teeth.... What I was saying is that sacking Jones.... Which needs to be done.... Will lead to Martinez going - he is very loyal.... If he quits then it's nowhere near as expensive...

THe frustrating thing is ... He has finished 5th with an inferior squad to the one he has now. THe drop that has occurred is that he has coached out the defensive solidity we had..... Drawing not losing.... And we are replaced with winning sometimes and drawing because we cannot defend - or losing and that is down to Jones.

We just seem so spineless at the moment. Sure, we get some clean sheets but you just know that if the opposition score one, they'll go on to score another two or three because we crumble defensively once that first goal has gone in. It's happened all season long. Everyone can see it. Either Bobby can't see it, in which case he needs to be sacked, or he can see but is unable to improve the situation, in which case he should be sacked.

Sure, you can point at things that haven't gone our way but the bottom line is that we should be much higher than 12th, especially since all our key players (bar Jags) have been available all season. Our squad is similar to Spurs and they are 2nd. This season was a great opportunity to get into the top 4 but Bobby has blown it and we sit below West Ham, Stoke, Southampton and West fucking Brom.

Fair enough, it was a bad analogy. He still needs sacking. For me, Martinez still being our manager in August is almost unimaginable.

Exactly.  And the worst thing is, an opposing manager can say to his team. 2-0 down to us with ten minutes to go "don't worry lads, we'll win this" and he won't be bullshitting.  Even shitty Villa, when they pulled one back against us, looked full of belief that they could salvage something - and they are the worst PL team of them all.

I was talking to a fellow Blue about it the other day, and we both agreed that even when we win games at the moment it feels a bit hollow, like we've got away with something we don't really merit. I can't remember feeling like that before.

He's completely blown Moyes's legacy. He inherited a fit, well drilled team, one that just needed a world class centre forward and a bit more flair. He's got the latter, but jettisoned the former. The result is that we're doing worse under Bobby desptite having spent millions of pounds more than Moyes was ever given.

the media are definitely starting to turn on him. However, one of the comments on the above article says: "Or it could just be that the team are overrated, Baines and Jagielka past their best, Stones makes a major mistake at least once a game, McCarthy works hard offers little going forward and still needs Barry to help him defensively. Colemans reputation is based off a few pot shots a few years ago, defensively he has always been average. Barkley and Delefeou have their moments but no where near enough. Lukaku is the only one keeping out the relegation fight, the rest Besic,Galloway etc are all average some like Howard and Robles are terrible"

Is the team actually over-rated? Thoughts?

I was going to post pretty much the same. Bobby is inept and even though I'd like him to succeed, he's had enough chances. I think however, it's also time we stop kidding ourselves that we have our best squad for years. People keep saying we could be second if only we learnt how to defend, but I think the reality is we aren't as strong as we feel. I think we are under performing but I don't believe we have any better a squad than say the shite or the Mancs for example.

I think the comment is bollocks. Jags and Baines are still regulars for England, as is Stones (despite his fannying around). Coleman hasn't been as good this season or last but it still a good FB. Macca and Barry are solid holding players - Barry is extremely capable and if he played for a more fashionable team would probably still be in and around the England squad. Barks, Foo, Lennon, Kev, and Luka are all top quality players on their day. Robles and Howard are solid keepers.

The real question should be about comparing our squad to other PL squads. We have a better squad than a Southampton, West Brom, West Ham and Stoke so for them to be above us means that we are underacheiving. If we can beat the teams with worse squads than us, we'll finish top 5/6. I don't think that is too much ask.

My worry is that Mr Moshi won't want to go straight in and sack the cunt manager as his first action after taking over the club. He'll have a nice chat with Bobby Bullshit and will either come away scratching his head thinking "what the FUCK was that bellend talking about?", or more likely he'll be taken in by the brown shoe shuffle and will end up giving him til Christmas.

NO MR MOSHI! DON'T DO IT!

So, the fans need to let Mr Moshi know that we won't be upset if he comes in on the first day and SACKS THE KNOBHEAD!

By the way, this is what I said four months into Bobby's reign:

Early days, and I don't want to hex the cunt, but Martinez has been astonishing so far. His tactics, his team selection, his substitutions, the way he goes about his job - absolutely faultless.

I know we all talk about Lukaku and Barry and Baines and whether we can keep hold of them but if Martinez carries on like this there will be some big money clubs coming in for him at the end of the season.

So it boils down to his basic training, not just tactics. An example.
The full backs, with cover, should have been snapping at the heels of the wide men, rather than the Phil Neville tactic of standing back 5 yards. If you can't stop the cross, make it hard for the crosses to be accurate. CB's should watch Shawcross, and other gobshytes who know how to ease out an attacker as he lines up a header, while someone attacks the ball!
Loads of basic stuff that just lingers on and on.

Poor judgement indeed Hairy Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

This is what I said

I don't think it is same old at all .. sure we are passing well but we have no cutting edge whatsoever inside 20 yards. We have played 3 poor teams in Norwich, WBA (minus Lukaku) and now Cardiff ... 4 if you count the Stevenage disgrace.. we have no striker of any ilk.. we have spent our money.. we are in the shit & likely to lose quality players in the next 48 hours... our best looking players are a kid (good one granted) in Barkley & a loan in Defoofoo .. our wingers are not at the races at the moment (Pienaar & Miralles) ... sorry, but it's fucking shite

nearly forgot .. it's Chelsea next ... we'll be in the bottom three

ROBERTO MARTINEZ - Meet the new boss (Same as the old boss?) - Page 20 Empty Re: ROBERTO MARTINEZ - Meet the new boss (Same as the old boss?)

I went to an Everton In The Community event on Friday night in Parbold with my dad. He said "Martinez lives around here, he might turn up".

He did to be fair to him, popped his head in for 10 minutes or so, said how good a job EITC do etc etc.

He still got a heroes reception. I said to two blokes on the table we were on I dont rate him and he is stubborn.

He needs to go if they can find a decent replacement.

Fair play to him, he's a good man. Shit manager, but a good man.
