I think this too.    The club has to always put its interests before the player.  Stones can wait a year and he should be mature enough to get on with it.

Players who put in transfer requests at this stage of the window usually have them rejected and this is really no different.    He has 4 years left on his contract so his value isnt going to go down.   No need to sell!

Rooney, Arteta, Fellaini, all put in their requests with hours to go, so this is a better scenario than that.
Sadly, like Barkley, his game could be found out over the rest oft this season and his value sinks like the Chinese stock market.
Surely BK, RM and Elstone have had a plan B for him banging in this request?

Barnsley would be nuts to do that given where the deal currently is
