Reminds me of early in the season - plenty of huff and puff but no end product. We'll have to beat the Toon next week.

Fulham go to Spurs
Shite need at least a point against Chelsea, 3 at Swansea
So not all doom & gloom.

They are away to Spurs so hopefully they won't catch us even if we slip up against Toon.
Also Chelsea have got to think that they have a chance of a top 4 finish after the results this weekend so should be looking for a win at Anfield.
BTW, I wonder who will be last on MOTD tonight?

Re: Wolves 0 Everton 0
Dominated possession, but we struggled where it mattered. Linesman incorrectly disallowed a goal which could have changed the game, could have had a penalty, too. Wolves never looked like scoring. But the disappointing thing was the attitude of some of the players to balls that weren't quite right. Too much frustration and throwing arms up in the air for my liking. Need to be more positive. Missed Gibbo, perhaps?

Poor
We always looked like we could try harder but just didn't want to.
When was our last 0-0?

We need either Gibbo or Nev to keep the boys fired up.

Wigan in 2011, I think.

Word for word that is what they just said on Radio 5!
Re: Wolves 0 Everton 0
Fulham need to beat Spurs (or draw if we lose by NINE to Newcastle)
The Shite need 4 points (at least) to catch us. 2-1 twice for them coupled with a 0-1 loss for us leaves us dead level on points & everything else.
With The Shite 3 goals & 4 points behind a draw for them against Chelsea would mean it's all in the air.. Obviously if they beat Chelsea were under pressure. Newcastle know that Arsenal should get a point or more at West Brom & Spurs should beat Fulham but they'll obviously be going for a win - throw a Chelsea win at Analfield into the mix and it's 2 from 4. At the bottom (right now) it's any 2 from 5. So potentially 11 teams playing for something next weekend (in 9 games) leaving only the Swansea/Liverpool game as relatively meaningless (unless you count finishing above us as significant on a grand scale).

Ideal scenario: The Shite beat Chelsea. They then put in a superhuman effort at Swansea and win 4-0, but we beat the Barcodes with a last minute screamer from Hibbo, to keep us above them. Citteh are winning 1-0 in the last minute when Cisse grabs an equaliser. The news filters throught to Utd who are drawing 0-0 and they score an injury time winner to snatch the title. We are happy. The RS are miserable because they finished 8th, we finished above them, and Utd won another title to pull further away in the all time list.
Re: Wolves 0 Everton 0
Sorry, 4-2 net for Liverpoo (including a draw) plus 0-1 for us. So, for example, 1-1 v Chavs 3-1 win at Swansea.

Can't see the Shite dropping points to Chelsea after Saturday. Chelsea know it's highly unlikely they'll finish top 4 now, so their minds will be totally on the CL final. KKK will see he really fucked up in the cup final, so will start with Suarez and Caroll up front. Terry will start for Chelsea, but Robbie will start resting players now I think, especially as they've played two matches a week for the past couple of months. I would be surprised at anything less than a three goal win for the Shite, they'll be really up for it. Ponytail with two, goofy racist with one. 3-0.
Swansea will be a bit different though, cos the pressure will be back on the RS to get a result and they'll go cautious. Possibly just draw. We need a point off the Toon to be safe.
Re: Wolves 0 Everton 0
Half the players seemed to be carrying their buckets and spades today. Their minds more on spit roasting a few birds in Malaga than winning today.

Is McFadden up for a new contract?

When he signed up in October, the papers said he was only contracted until the end of the season.
He's been an awful waste of our much need resources.

I agree. He's totally clueless out there on the pitch. No need to give him a new contract at all.Lumper wrote:Mr_Ben wrote:Is McFadden up for a new contract?

Gueye, Barkley and even Baxter are better options in my opinion. We don't need him.
Re: Wolves 0 Everton 0
Was a typical end of season game for me, although I thought again, as against Stoke, Everton played better and dominated in spells, we REALLY miss Baines when he doesn't play.
I think Jelavic was onside for his goal which is annoying, but nevermind, let's hope there are some crying geordies at Goodison next week.
