Swansea 0 Everton 2 (Baines, Jelavic)
Disaster strikes for The President as Super delivers a much deserved beating with the Rules Discipline Stick for starting a second set of match threads in the 2011-2012 season. Tsk, tsk indeed and unbelievably unfortunate following our 19-0 annihilation of l'Arse in midweek.
Fresh on the back of Hibbo's unforgettable first professional double hat trick, we travel to Welsh Wales. Who really wants to see Fancy Dan, pleasing on the eye, pass and move football anyway? Not me, I can tell you!
Swansea's pretty boy style will be nothing for our "lump it, hope for the best, oh it's come back" brand of soccer ball, so fully expect goals from powerhouses Denis Straqualursi, Nikica Jelavic, Brett Angell and Pat Nevin in a 2-1 win to the Mighty Blues.
COYB.

What are you doing cutting in on the pres? We're bound to lose all our games now.

Need a new twisted match-thread starter for the next game please.

He’ll be commentating, won’t he?
Can a commentator score a goal in a game that he/she is commentating on?

Yes they can. Happily, Jim Beglin was shit.

Re: Swansea 0 Everton 2 (Baines, Jelavic)
Fair enough.
Probably the way to beat them is to be quite direct and put their centre halves under pressure. Get a goal up and sit back, let them pass it about and block them out.

Near enough. But there are ways to do it which have a bit more thought behind them than just lump it up. Pressuring the midfield and denying them space, kinda tactics we use against spurs quite effectively the past few seasons, exploiting set pieces and trying to make the most of their weaknesses in the air.

Re: Swansea 0 Everton 2 (Baines, Jelavic)
Darron Gibson could return to the Everton squad for the game at Swansea. The January signing has been missing since the FA Cup game against Blackpool last month. But he has been training this week after recovering from his knee ligament problem and could figure against the Swans. But midfield pair Jack Rodwell and Seamus Coleman are likely to be missing with hamstring and thigh injuries respectively.

Use him as a sub, give him 15 minutes and save his legs for Tuesday

Our record against Swansea is Won 10 Drawn 4 Lost 0.
It might never have been under as much threat as it will be tomorrow.

Moyes has talked about it being vital to disrupt Swansea's passing rhythm, so I expect to see:
Howard
Hibbo Jags Distin Baines
Fellaini, Gibson, Neville, Heitinga
Cahill
Jelly
That would rank as possibly the most breath-takingly dull side ever picked by Moyes wouldn't it? Be funny if he did pick it.

Re: Swansea 0 Everton 2 (Baines, Jelavic)
I fear we could be chasing shadows today - Swansea are really settled and enjoying there football. Moyes has got everyone on his back due to the derby fiasco and will be desperate to put things right on tuesday so we may nt get a performance today if he starts chopping and changing again. A narrow defeat I fear. This time of the season it's all about having the right attitude.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Fellaini, Gibson. Cahill, Osman, Pienaar, Jelavic.
Moyes is at it again dropping Hietinga for Jags! Gibson back and straight back in for Drenthe.

Think the first is a mistake, the second is correct. With gibbo and fela we can break their attacks up earlier
