Even hated in Singapore
LIVERPOOL - On the eve of the big Merseyside derby at Anfield, Kenny Dalglish was yesterday forced to brush aside reports that Luis Suarez would be interested in playing for French side Paris St Germain (PSG).
Speaking to French television, Liverpool's star striker Suarez had apparently admitted he would be open to the possibility of linking up with fellow Uruguayan Diego Lugano at PSG.
PSG, newly-bankrolled by the Qatar Investment Authority and managed by former AC Milan and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, have been linked with a summer move for the 25-year-old.
With the visit of Everton looming, Dalglish adopted a defensive stance when asked about Suarez's quotes, asking: "How often has Lugano played this year?"
The Reds boss also insisted the French television programme was more about PSG ace Lugano and Napoli's Edinson Cavani.
"Anything you tell me I'm dismissing," he barked.
The Scotsman said Liverpool will not approach tonight's (tomorrow morning, Singapore time) derby with a negative mindset.
The Reds go into the game after a weekend defeat by Sunderland while Everton maintained their good home form by toppling Champions League-chasing Tottenham.
With Liverpool having lost three straight league games, the Toffees could leapfrog their neighbours in the table and move into seventh spot with a win.
Said Dalglish: "We've never gloated when we've won so we won't hide when we're losing.
"We don't want to get in the habit of losing games.
"For us, in between, the losses we've had a Carling Cup victory as well.
"We've got a big game. Everyone is looking forward to it and we know how much it means to everyone."
Liverpool are at least 10 points behind Arsenal in the race for the final Champions League qualifying position, but Dalglish is not writing off hopes of a top-four finish.
"We always say we'll take each game as it comes and we'll add the points up at the end of the season. If it is boring and repetitive then so is the question.
"We've just got to keep believing in ourselves and keep pushing forward."

Re: Shite 3 Everton 0
I think we'll lose but I don't think it matters a great deal beyond the bragging rights. The Shite's season won't be defined by whether they win tonight, it will be defined by whether or not they qualify for the CL (not). Likewise this is just another game for us. We have a good run in (with the exception of this and United away) so we should be looking to climb the table regardless of tonight's result.

BEEB reports Moyes may rest Jelavic? Starting place for the power and work rate of the Straq?
Jags or J5 at CB
Coleman, Ossie, Drenthe, Pienuts?
Not a straight forward line up tonight. Depends on DM priorities Derby or FA Cup.

I can see why he may go with Straq.
I'd take a defeat tonight and a victory on Saturday any day or night of the week.

Has anyone warned Luis Suarez we have a French, black defender who probably doesn't understand the intricacies of Uruguayan culture?

Great another reason for them to win.
I expect them to win and to state they can still get into the CL or win the league etc

I also have a suspicion that the spectre of February 1991 may return. If we do win - or at least keep coming back with as good as we get.... (aka 4-4 draw) then I think the writing will be on the wall. The Club must have CL participation to support the business model they have drawn up and are working towards. It is even more desperate because its not tow clubs fighting for the last place but... Arsenal/Tottenham/Chelsea/Newcastle/Liverpool and if we win ... then why not us as well. Clearly third is way too unlikely for the last 3 clubs - however it highlights the pickle KKK has got the "beloved" club into.... Woy never really spent the money that either KKK or FSW have had. Its almost too pitiful to laugh at the deluded masses of RS fans who cannot really see the truth as everyone else sees it.

To be honest that one photograph speaks more eloquently as to why I despise Sky (and its impact) - more than most things in the world.
I am prepared to bet that both people are related - and that it reflects the reality within the city that despite the rivalry - it was all about preference whether you were Red or Blue... what mattered most was that we came from the same stock.
The influx of Euro branding and the prevalance given to clubs who have been nothing more than consistent also-rans in the league has meant that the support of one club has become too biased towards a membership outside of the common culture. As such they bring in nothing more than vitriol or disdain for everything that is not LFC. They do so in the mistaken belief in that "to not do so" would in some way diminish their ability to enter the afterlife and fiddle with pubescent virgins.
Their fervour is out of place with the underlying nature of what was (well for most of my life) the only the match that truly split families for 90 minutes and then got back to normal with mickey-taking, sulking in the corner of the class or not having that cigarette break on Monday morning.

I always think we are going to win every game.
But this one seems to mean even more - we have beaten some top teams just lately - just hope we don't slack off because we are playing a minor team.
