Brilliant first half performance though by us, and it looked very promising coming out at HT, but it was a totally different Spurs that came out for the second half.

In the end a very impressive win by us! Up and onwards!

2 points behind the RS. What would you give for a win against those fuckers?

Based on the first half today, I'd say it;s quite possible we can beat them. Based on the second half however, I'm not so sure... Laughing

Love it.

From the BBC

Everton must be just about the dullest team in the Premier League. They've no ambition to keep the ball in play - they thrive on keeping the ball out of play and killing the game. What a bore to watch. And Tim Howard's time-wasting? Disgusting."

Amazing how supporters forget that they do much the same thing. Then it's seeing out the game. If the opposition do it it's disgusting.

Really exciting game that... great 3 points..

Amazing how Saha's effort didn't go in at the end..

5 mins added time was disgraceful though ... not happy about that..

The match thread run goes on .... bring on the slab throwers

Brilliant

Dinner was cold though

Gets better.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, when asked if his side deserved a draw: "A draw? It was the most one-sided second half we've seen. We've battered them in the second half.

"We didn't do a lot wrong first half. It was one-way traffic. We just couldn't get the goal.

"We got well beaten at Arsenal - they battered us second half. Last week we were unfortunate against Man United and we were unfortunate here."

I should hope not. The FA have previously warned us that agreements like that are in breach of the rules after we signed Tim Howard halfway through his loan spell (and fatefully played Iain Turner in goal for the Man U game instead). So if such an agreement exists, I would hope Moyes hasn't been so stupid to say it.

Anyway, I don't really get it. He's their player now - we have no right to tell them he can or can't play.

Glad Saha played. And glad he almost equalised, because it proves he was trying to be effective.

Maybe such an agreement did exist. If so Moyes was incredibly stupid revealing that this was the case. Even more so considering, under Moyes, we have previous. You can only play at being ignorant once.

Anyway, cracking result in the end. The Baines handball moment could easily have gone against us, but Howard deserved that bit of luck when the ball ricocheted off him after hitting the post at the end. He commanded that penalty area in the second half. Well played Tim. Everton 1 Tottenham 0 (Jelavic) - Page 11 Action-s

Did Harry have glue in his brown paper bag? He's off his fucking head. I thought Spurs were totally fucking shite, marginally better than Chelsea were against us, but they huffed and puffed in the second half and only right at the end did they give us any real problems. I don't mind Harry usually, but he needs to hold his hand up to this one - he set his team up completely wrong against us and they were mediocre. We weren't great, but I didn't think we were unduly troubled by them.

the setup was wierd, wasn't it? If Modric is only effective in the middle why play him on the wing? better to put Sandro out there and at least compete in the middle, but we kept them pressed back and all their first half possession was in their half or the first 10 yards of ours. Thought Fella and Ossie were bossing the middle for long periods.

Post  Sack the Juggler Sun 11 Mar 2012, 1:11 am

Just back from the game... Via rigby's in Dale street and here's my match report.

This was my first game of the season... Well, I've been busy! Met up with yankthattoffee and his missus in the top house before the game and we caught the end of the shyte game on the telly, so my thoughts from that are;

1) yankthattoffee's missus is gorgeous! Absolute stunner! He's a lucky fuck and an all round nice guy.
2) I owe ytt a beer or two as he got the ale in
3) the shyte were awful, no heart, no soul, won a cup and nothing else to play for.
4) notepad's hat was a bit much, but noticeable in the crowd outside gwladys street, sorry for leaving you all there, but I was in the main stand, and had forgotten!

The match itself was definitely a game of two halves. The first half we were ace and should have scored two or three, tottenham were very poor. Second half we sat too deep, despite moyes shouting at them to push out, and we just encouraged spuds to attack us for the whole half, very annoying!

Jelavic took his goal brilliantly, and his all round play was ace until he faded and was replaced in the second half.

Spuds were diving for everything in and around the box as they obviously decided a bale Freekick or a penalty was the only way they were going to score, it was really disgraceful and embarrassing from spuds.

Main culprits were bale and Parker, which was really disappointing as I had really admired both players prior to this game.

Second half we were far too deep and just encouraged spuds to keep coming forward and we made them look good and we were lucky they couldn't score in a brothel. Need to play like we did in the first half if we are to beat the shyte on Tuesday.

Saha looked good, but he's already scored his two goals in a season, so never really looked dangerous.

Modric was the best player by far on the pitch, in fact he was probably better than many players who werent even on the pitch. Kaboul also has a good game although I thought he deliberately left his studs in against Coleman in one tackle and caught colemans head, bastard!

Oh and rigby's was full of everton fans and laughter until one bitter red started whinging about the everton songs during match of the day, so in consideration for his feelings, the songs grew louder especially from the massive everton fan who was stood right in front off him (not me by the way), but honestly, what a gang of whinging pussies the shyte fans are!

it was a defo handball by the way, and we were lucky to get away with it, although hallsey was really miffed about our time wasting which is why he gave an unfeasible 5 mins injury time when there was no injuries. Apart from that he was ok.

Overall we deserved the win in the first half but were lucky to hold out for a win by the end but neither team seemed able to finish it off, although Saha came close, but he'd already scored his two goals for the season.

The referee was really getting wound up by

Redknapp was criticised by sections of his own support for playing Gareth Bale on the right, though he countered that he plays there for Wales and thought it important to try to keep Leighton Baines pinned back.
