GET IN!!!
Did us proud out there. Hibbo and Heitinga were amazing at the back, gave nothing away. Fellaini excellent once again and the Stracq gave everything.

I think that's the first game I've enjoyed this season. Dogs of War stuff. Hindsight I know - but I fancied us to win this from the kick off. Goodison was rocking tonight - hope its given the new boy an idea of what the club's about. Mind you, he's going to be unpopular if he takes Straq's place, the fans love him

2158: David Moyes embraces his players and pumps his fists to the fans as he descends down the Goodison tunnel. It has been a big day for the Toffees with a win and a brand-new striker to show off.

Apart from Nasri's long-ranger, City had no decent chances. They had plenty of the ball in the final third but we defended superbly.

Any stand out players? I see the Straq being mentioned above.Armchair Evertonian wrote:Apart from Nasri's long-ranger, City had no decent chances. They had plenty of the ball in the final third but we defended superbly.

Hard to pick one Thor. Hibbo and J5 solid at CB. Felli great in midfield. Straq ran his socks off. Donovan provided a great outlet and tracked back really well. Royston was...well, Royston.

Heitinga Sky MOTM. Thought he kept his shape really well. We never got stretched at the back and a lot of credit goes to him and Hibbo. Felly really playing well lately and if Gibson can step up like he did in second half then we might have a decent finish.

BBC Radio 5 live pundit Danny Mills: "Manchester City just started the game very poorly, very lacklustre. They lacked drive and authority in the middle of the park. They have talented footballers but they seemed to have no direction. Everton were very well organised and caught them on the break on more than one occasion. There really wasn't anything between the two sides."

Gibson only came to life after he'd scored. My gut feeling is he's not going to be very good for us. Still, he did win the game for us today so

Re: Everton 1 Man City 0 (Gibson)
Moyes saying on SSN that he needs to get away from the interview if he's to have a chance of signing anyone else. Intriguing.
