I'd just like to say that I've changed my mind.
On a bad night to be an Evertonian, that made me laugh.

Is that by Buddy Holly?

Re: Everton 1 Chelsea 2 (Saha) - Carling Cup (AET)
Ah well at least I got my normal time match thread correct, and correct score too - super, do I get extra extra bonus points for naming the correct goal scorers in normal time? Super? SUPER stay away from that coldplay album!

Re: Everton 1 Chelsea 2 (Saha) - Carling Cup (AET)
Just watched the highlights.
first goal it was floated in, heading right into mucha's hands, under no pressure and he didn't keep hold of it, so it kind of bounced off his hands and into the net - diabolical.
their second goal, stinging shot and instead of parrying over he tried to catch it and knocked it down right in front of him - going back to when I was playing, our goalkeeper was constantly told, never knock it down in front of the goal, knock it sideways, knock it over, punch it clear, but never, ever, ever knock it down in front of you.
Having said that he made a few decent saves and we missed a shit load that would have won it in normal time.
Great goal by saha by the way, nice build up. Drenthe got his first yellow for talking back to the ref - needs to keep it shut - and he's a diver, the new pienaar - going off him.
And strackatwat missed a sitter, headed over unmarked from about 10 yards - fookin lump of wood

Did you watch the highlights online or on the TV? If online, do you have the link still?Sack the Juggler wrote:Just watched the highlights.

I really thought we had them. Attack after attack when RRD was on the park.
2 stupid cards. What the TV didn't show was the elbow to the face he received from their LB a few minutes earlier.
and I'll say it again, as I did when the team ran out. "MOYES. PLAY YOUR BEST TEAM!"
It was a chance at a trophy and Europe.
God I was gutted at the end.

Re: Everton 1 Chelsea 2 (Saha) - Carling Cup (AET)
AVB has dedicated the victory to Nelson Mandela John Terry
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15473533.stm
"this win is dedicated to John, and also to Nick Griffin, Adolf Hitler and other misunderstood martyrs. John wasn't in the squad because he is so not a racist that he has been cleaning the toilets of poor dark folk in Hackney instead of training, and then he had to take his labrador for a walk. His dog is black by the way. And called Coonface. That's how not a racist John Terry is my friends."

Should have won that. Mucha clanger, poor peno from baines, Straq miss.
Should have finished 2-1 to us, really. Get Hahnemann on!

I would have prefered to see Hahnemann last night, rather than Mucha, if Moyes felt Howard needed a rest. I think that may be the last time we see Mucha play for our first team now and I can't really say that I am sorry.
Re: Everton 1 Chelsea 2 (Saha) - Carling Cup (AET)
This game sums Everton up for me - gallant failures with no rub of the green in a tight game. Moreover thanks to the linesman & Lee Bloody Mason we're missing Royston on Saturday thereby reducing our chances of pulling off an upset from slim to virtually impossible.

In fairness to the lad... having seen it I think Drenthe's 2 yellow were rather unfortunate

Om the basis of the highlights, Drenthe was by far our best player - he looked a class above the rest of our lot except perhaps Saha. Strangely, apart from the two goals, Much was excellent. No good being a decent shot stopper if you let in two like that though
