Re: Friendly: Philadelphia 1 Everton 0
I missed half an hour of this due to EvertonTV being shite.
I can't believe how many people moaning on Twitter about having to pay a fiver to watch it.
Bet they are the same ones who are moaning about Kenwright (Well if they do they get unfollowed by me).
I will try and comment a bit on the second half.

Re: Friendly: Philadelphia 1 Everton 0
Velios tracks back and tackles the Yank version of Torres.

If anything they should get fitness, it looks really warm.

Velios nicks the ball off the Philly midfield about 35 yards out, he let it bounce and shot but it was weak.

Re: Friendly: Philadelphia 1 Everton 0
Velios looks decent, looks like he can hold it up.

Too many subs to make a proper judgement on the performance.
Velios is impressing, on another day could have had 2 goals.

I agree with you about Velios. Nice to see some potential there.

Re: Friendly: Philadelphia 1 Everton 0
From OS
Everton conceded a late goal in sweltering conditions to go down 1-0 to Philadelphia Union in a pre-season friendly at PPL Park.
After 87 minutes of evenly matched play Union teenager Christian Hernandez pounced to give the Americans victory.
The result was tough on Everton who can at least look back on a good workout for the majority of their travelling squad.
A late red card for John Heitinga did provide a moment of frustration.
The Union, perhaps more accustomed to the extreme heat, started on the front foot with Danny Mwanga and Carlos Valdes both wasting headed chances inside 15 minutes.
Everton's first decent effort was Mikel Arteta's cheeky free kick into the side netting but Jan Mucha then produced a top save to deny Justin Mapp from a tight angle.
With Arteta pulling the strings Everton searched for a foothold and it was the Spaniard's cleverly flighted pass which set up Beckford on 25 minutes.
Unfortunately, the forward's volleyed effort didn't match his exquisite control of the ball.
Valdes went as close as anyone to opening the scoring on the stroke of half time and David Moyes made three changes at the break.
One of them, Apostolos Vellios, went close with an effort from all of 35 yards before Heitinga and Coleman went close for the Toffees.
Almost immediately the Dutchman was back to his usual defensive duties, blocking Jack McInerney's goalbound effort.
Another effort from Mwanga was close after he robbed Baines and then substitute Ross Barkley did well to feed Vellios.
The Greek's flick was well smothered by Thorne Holder though.
Mucha produced a fine save at the other end to keep Zach Pfeffer out but Christian Hernandez pounced after pinball in the box to slam home the winner with just three minutes left.
Heitinga was shown a second yellow card in added time and was furious as he left the field

Cahill, Neville & I think Jags seem to be wearing the same Lucozade bottles for boots.

Amazing, settled in straight away, you would hardly notice they were there.

Yeah, not a bad "run out" I was at the game it was hot but no where near today, it was 110F and I spent the last four hours on a roof trying to fix an AC unit.
There was no sign of Saha, Fellaini or Osman but then again I couldn't see the bench from where I was sitting.
I drove up and down, we gave Beckford's aunt a lift on the way back....
Heading down to DC in the morning, that will be way more relaxing for me as I can have a few well deserved
