If Stones had played more this season, I would agree with you. He just didn't feature enough.Made FooFoo Gwladys wrote:Barks win Young Player of the year ... not surprising really but Stones must have been in with a decent shout...

The fact that Barkley may go to the world cup tipped the balance.

I'm not giving up easily here ... MOTD pundits (who are very knowledgeable gobshites ) also tipped Stones to go to the WC..sefton wrote:Made FooFoo Gwladys wrote:you say that Thor ... but Barks was 29 starts 9 subs ... Hodgson, would do better criticising his experienced players like Glen Johnson-Frank Lampard -Wayne Rooney-Steven Gerrard , Instead of making the youngsters the scapegoats
Ross Barley shouldn't be at the centre of Manager/ media outbursts , this makes Hodgson look like a Hypocrite, Its like we are putting all are hopes on the young shoulders of Barkley,Martinez would have had a word in private with Ross. but then again Martinez wouldn't have made his comments public
Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
Woy is a twat ... sacked by the shite & will be sacked by England soon after we don't even get out the group stage... he'll play all th eold useless shite that we've seen for the last 2 world cups...sefton wrote:Sack the Juggler wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2649869/Roberto-Martinez-responds-Roy-Hodgson-criticism-hailing-brilliant-Ross-Barkley.html

Using Rodwell as bait they'll be lucky to get Doris the Tea Lady off us. How fucking ridiculous can these papers get?

The Jack Rodwell element of this story explains precisely why Barkley should stay!

I was just thinking exactly the same!
Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
As usual the Mirror just can't help themselves.
Year after year ......
"Manchester City are looking to offload several squad players to fund a surprise move for Everton and England star Ross Barkley, while a £32million deal for Porto and France defender Eliaquim Mangala is close to being sealed."

If we sell Barkley the average age of our team jumps up by about 5 years!

Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
The knock on effect of a Barkley sale could be catastrophic. A domino effect of sale ala Southampton could be set in motion over the next few windows. I doubt he will be tempted this window anyway

Has signed a new improved 4 year deal taking him to 2018.
RM and Ross just on SSN confirming the deal. Also RM stated his No.1 transfer target is still Lukaku.

Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
Everton have learned not to make the same mistake a third time.
With Wayne Rooney just a boy still learning his trade at Everton, Sir Alex Fergusson, came along and took the boy who has never finished his Everton education, turned hi, into a man before his time.
No question that Rooney can be a lethal striker , but for some (including me) Rooney was not the finished article , the same can be said of Jack Rodwell .he too Should have thought more about his career than being influenced away from Goodison for big money transfer move to Man City.
Ross Barkley, still a bit of a kid signs a four year deal to stay on Merseyside with Everton until 2018.
If both Martinez and Barkley stay a few years at Everton , Barkley will grow into the full package benefitting both himself and Everton fc.

Lukaku would do well to have a read of it as well over the next
Give the average British player thirty Premier League appearances, a couple of England caps, and a nice write-up in a broadsheet, and they will start assuming that the Balon d’Or is an inevitability. Then come the wage demands, then the apparent ‘need’ to be playing Champions League football and then, almost inevitably, will follow a period of mid-career stagnation at a club they weren’t ready to play for.
