Villa are on the slide, Osman is playing like the Jimi Hendrix of the football world with his fancy feet and huge afro, and Beckford is going to come good as first choice striker for the rest of the season.
6-1 to the mighty Blues - two for Osman, a Rodwell screamer and a Beckford hat-trick off his arse, knee and testicles.

An Everton win could see Houllier sacked which would be nice.

Agreed mate. One of the most horrible Liverpool managers ever... and that is saying something.

He's doing the exact same at Villa, alienating the fans, players, they are in chaos.
I have nothing against Villa as such as even though some of the songs the fans sing are pathetic, but while he is there I hope they drop like a stone.
He can't accept he is shite, must be a French thing.
How the hell can he put Steven Warnock in the reserves then have the bollocks to sign Robert Pires.
Anyway.......

It got me when they played the shite and he went to applaud their fans while ignoring the Villa fans. I don't think I have ever seen anything like that before and I would have gone mental if I was a Villa fan. His tactics are teriible, he is a terrible man manager and he has funny eyes.
Hope we get him the sack.

Re: Everton 2 (Osman, Baines (pen.)) Aston Villa 2
depends if Cahill is still injured otherwise it will be Becks and Vic upfront.
Someone needs to boot Ashley Young into the stands in the first 5 minutes
2-2.

All very well saying that but we should have got about 50 points from the games we've played so far!
Re: Everton 2 (Osman, Baines (pen.)) Aston Villa 2
This is getting close to a must-win for Villa... Can we cope with their desperation?

Good point.
I hope we get battered but nick a flukey winning goal like they did vs us earlier on this season.
Re: Everton 2 (Osman, Baines (pen.)) Aston Villa 2
Looks like we wont field much of a team with Rodwell now possibly out for a month. Could be looking at a central midfield pair of Heitinga and Osman, with Billy and maybe Seamus on the wings! Only Cahill and Beckford upfront too. Going to be a long tiresome end to season by the looks of it. Bonus points available for how many times you will hear a commentator say: "And the Everton players look like they are on their holidays already"
Maybe Gueye will get a game after all!

currently injured:
saha, anichebe, coleman, fellaini, arteta, Cahill, Rodwell, Baxter
thats the entire 1st choice midfield and striker plus a couple of subs gone
current midfield options that aren't carrying and injury available at the moment are:
Ossie, Neville, heitinga,Bilya, Gueye
and upfront we've got Beckford.
we'll struggle to fill the bench unless some of the wounded recover.
Will have to hope Coleman's ankle injury isn't too bad. apparently Cahill has been playing through the pain with a foot problem for a while now as well and needs to rest badly but knowing him and DM he'll play unless he's lost a leg.

There is still over week before the Villa game, by which time our injury crisis may have eased, hopefully.
Luckily, we are at home to a Villa team in dis-array.

anichebe, cahill, coleman i'd expect back or in cahill's case to play anyway
it could be worth giving the unpopular midfield pairing of Heitinga and neville a go if Gueye is required to start. he looks to have a lot of potential going forward particulalry from the left but I wouldn't trust him to cover for Baines when he bombs forward so an extra defensive player covering from the middle would help.
however if non of the injured return i'd not be too dissapointed to see us try
howard

Re: Everton 2 (Osman, Baines (pen.)) Aston Villa 2
I was just about to say that a line up like that wouldn't be too bad. Also gives us a chance to sew how Gueye would get on in the side.Valentino Blue wrote:SouthernSmugToffee wrote:Valentino Blue wrote:Bluejags wrote:Looks like we wont field much of a team with Rodwell now possibly out for a month. Off topic slightly but a Villa fan in work really thinks they in trouble. Can we see them going down?
Maybe even then we could put a cheeky bid for Ashley Young before he rejects us.

Well if Dunne is playing Id stick Beckford on him as Dunne looked woefully off the pace towards the end of Ireland game saturday night.

Vic played, set up and scored goals for Nigeria so he's probably going to be fine.
Vic and Beckford upfront then. could work if vic is willing to put in a shift.
