SACK MOYLES!
Nah, I still think he should go. It's clearly time to move on for all parties IMO. That was a great performance, and in many ways a typical Moyes performance, but even then it was frustrating, particularly that he should withdraw Mirallas when he was our only player with pace to give us an out when we were down to ten men. Then the fact that he brought on Naismith, who is utterly useless.
Whatever happens now, he should go.
I'd like to add the Soton manager to my wish list by the way.

Surely Pope Francis has to be in the shake up now? Taught Maradona all he knows.

I suppose there's an argument that Moyes has said hes pissing off unless the players pull their fingers out?

Everton will target Wigan Athletic's 39-year-old manager Roberto Martinez if David Moyes, who is out of contract in the summer, decides to leave the Toffees.

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
Has anyone seen the interview with Stubbsy? There's an article on GOT. It's perfect for us fans to see the club's ambition. He said that Moyesy will wait to see the board's ambition before signing.
"It will be about his budget. He'll want assurances about what players get sold and the amount of money that he'll get to spend from those transfers. "
"He wants to see the direction that the club is taking before he commits his future to it. It's a crossroads for the board as well, not just the manager. "
I suppose it tells us that if Moyesy signs, then the club is going places - in terms of ambition. However if he doesn't sign, start worrying. For once Moyesy is stepping up to the board.

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
The thing is, what does Moyes expect from the board? There will never be any large investment due to a) recession b) our debt c) old stadium d) UEFA fair play rules e) better options elsewhere. The board may be able to scrape together a few million pounds here and there for transfers, but for big purchases we will need to sell. Moyes stalling on his contract isn't going to change anything. I'd rather the board have the medium- to long-term financial viability of the club as a priority over short-term success. Moyes trying to wring money out of the club at each transfer window may harm the club in the long run.

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
Either Stubbs is talking shite, or Bullshit Billy is. Or both. And quite possible Moyes too.
Cos if Stubbs is right, then why doesn't Bill tell Moyes how much money is available right now? Then Moyes can make his mind up and either start looking for another job or commit himself publicly. And Bill can get on with either finding a new manager or scraping together the fifteen pence transfer fund he's promised Moyes.
Fact is, the money is not going to magically appear at the end of the season - it's either there or it ain't. And Fellaini is either on the market or he ain't. The board will surely know that by now?
Anyway, fuck off Moyes, fuck off Stubbs, fuck off everyone else especially Suarez.

Also, how can you scout new players now, knowing you can't afford them?

I don't follow what you are saying. If circumstances determine that Felli or Baines leave for a decent amount in the summer then it is essential that there is a known group of players from which appropriate purchases can be made. To stop scouting on the basis that the kitty is dry right now would be suicidal.

I haven't seen the interview with Stubbsy, but,if the above comments are true? and this is the reason for Moyes contract stalling? Then the board have got to dig in and find the funds for transfers/ground improvements, otherwise we will be left in the wildeness for years.

Barca-beating Celtic boss Neil is in the frame as a potential successor to Toffees manager set to be out of contract at the end of the season
Celtic manager Neil Lennon is a shock candidate for the Everton job if David Moyes leaves this summer.
The Toffees have made keeping highly rated Moyes, whose contract is set to run out at the end of the season, their No1 priority and are hoping to persuade him to sign a new deal.
But Moyes has been reluctant to discuss his future publicly, which has set the alarm bells ringing - a ringing that will grow louder if Everton do not qualify for Europe.
Lennon is in the frame as a potential successor after catching the eye with the job he has done at Celtic.
While also keeping the Glasgow giants top of the tree in the Scottish Premier League, Lennon oversaw a run to the last-16 of the Champions League which included a win over Barcelona.
Hanging onto Moyes is still Everton's preference, but with plenty of clubs keen on the Goodison chief, former Leicester star Lennon could get the call to return south.
