The sad thing is that even though we won the home game against Stoke, we were lucky to win that one.

I don't know what excuses we'll come up with for this one but it's pretty obvious we might have had a chance if we'd had a proper referee on the pitch - penalty re foul on Saha (therefore a red card for Begovic) and ditto Delap on Coleman.. Sure we've been shit-ish but surely if either of these clear cut situations had resulted in the right decision we'd have been up against 10 men and a penalty to boot for the first one.. Like I say we've obviously come up well short but it would be reasonable to ask for a proper performance from Marriner.

I kind of agree, but we can't deflect the blame on to the ref IMO. We are simply not good enough to go to Stoke and win. That's what I find a lot more worrying than a ref that didn;t have a great day.

How do Stoke get away with the ball being handed to Delap wrapped in a towel, only for him to spend 10 seconds drying it then 10 seconds directing the field before throwing it? Quite unbelievable. Shocked

Meanwhile, have we discussed how poor this performance has been? Yey, next week, Saha, Neville, and Arteta will start yet again, and we'll have this awful repetetive substitution cycle once more.

Sorry TD...while the ref has had a shocker both teams have had to play with the same ref. While Stoke have won the game they didnt really need to create any major chances to score they just had some good decent chances and finished them while cahill missed his header and Saha shot in to the ground.

We lost because we cant put a ball in the net.
