Clearly we're not going to score a hatful so we'll need to keep it very tight at the back. Hopefully Tevez is left out, or playing but completely out-of-sorts. I reckon we might sneak this 1-0, although it is on Sky so probably not.

2 very good defences. I can see this being very close. A 1-0 or maybe 2-0 for either side with nothing in it. We can match them for football, and defence. It's just can we take our opportunities?

Based on how this season has been, the logical answer is "no".

Oddly enough, despite our shit season we havent lost away from home in the last 6 (drawing 5). Lost our first two away games to Blackburn and Villa but gone unbeaten since. What does it all mean? Fuck all but we've had a bit of a Indian sign over Citeh in last few seasons winning 5 of or last 6 encounters with them.

Anyway 4-0 Citeh (Tevez hattrick before he dropkicks Mancini and headbutts Cook.)

Man City 1 Everton 2 (Cahill, Baines) Empty Pienaar doubtful

Post  BB on Thu 16 Dec 2010, 7:15 pm

Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has admitted he probably won't be fit for Everton's tough trip to Man City on Monday.

The South African came off late in the Blues weekend draw with Wigan, a substitution which David Moyes said worsened the team's performance.

But the Blues boss is now facing a full game without his influential midfielder after Pienaar revealed the results of a scan via his Twitter site.

Piennar said: "Scan results weren´t that bad but it looks like ill need a week of recovery."

That leaves the Blues missing both Pienaar and Arteta for the journey to Eastlands with the Spaniard serving the final game of the three match suspension.

Everton are looking to extend a good record against at City where they haven't lost since 2007.

Pienaar not playing would be worse than Arteta not playing (due to his suspension), IMHO.

We were always rubbish at Main Road but don't have a bad record at Eastlands - since 2005 we have won 4 and lost 2 of our games there with no draws.

With Tevez throwing yet another moody to disrupt their dressing room and their players being weighed down with gloves and scarves I can see us winning this one.

2-0 Everton - don't care who scores

Lawro predicts....

Man City v Everton (2000 GMT)

You seem to get a different story every day coming out of City and the Carlos Tevez saga is the latest issue for their manager Roberto Mancini to deal with. The positive thing I would say for City in this is that, unlike with Wayne Rooney at Manchester United, you would say that if Tevez does play then he will give his absolute all.

Everton are competitive and this will be a real battle but they are a team that just cannot score. They are a good side which is lacking a striker - if you put Louis Saha, Yakubu, Victor Anchibe and Jermaine Beckford in a blender then you would have a real top player. You know what David Moyes will be looking for in January.

They are going to Eastlands to play a City side which are solid at the back and play with a lot of protection in front of their defence in midfield, so I can't really see them getting a goal here.

Prediction: 2-0

Maybe that is what we need to do
