Yeah i'll get my needle and thread out
I didn't like him when we first signed him but he's growing on me now.
I think he's a "new" centre back, he's more of an athlete rather than just tall like Distin or Yobo. He's not the best at winning headers, but he doesn't have to be.

Bryan wrote:Well, that was a bit surreal.
In his last season it was announced that he would be going to Spain at the close. This was the last home match and the fans paid thier tribute....
He is still very much loved in Amsterdam... and if you look at the lads he started with .... Ibramovich, Van der Vaart and our own Stephen Pienaar....
Just realised Pienaar will be a native Dutch speaker.... (well Afrikaans and Dutch is like American and English)

Re: 5: Johnny Heitinga -"proud Evertonian"
Just really nice having ball players in the team. Thought he did well in the defensive midfield role earlier in the season and the Dutch lad at work said his best role was in front of the back 4, when he moved to centre half he looked great, too. Still not sure what his best position is.
Re: 5: Johnny Heitinga -"proud Evertonian"
Prefer him at centre back though, he was ok bullying a team like Hull, referee was a bit of a homer too which helped.
Re: 5: Johnny Heitinga -"proud Evertonian"
I love the bloke as well. Some of his tackles today were amazing. He loves that cross field ball from the right to the left as well doesnt he???

Hi Statman.
We should have a great next season if we have a bit of luck with injuries. This season has been a freak in fairness. Never seen any team have ths much bad luck with injuries in my life.

Apart from the fact that he is an accomplished defender/defensive midfielder who can actually pass the ball and is as hard as nails, neither do I.

He's ok, done well to settle in so quickly, but not outstanding. He's a footballer and that's a complement.

He's improved the team. Jags and Johnny could become as legendary ad Ratcliffe and Mountfield.

He doesn't give me the shits when the ball comes near him in defence unlike Distin, Yobo and maybe Senderos.
