Honestly though, I think a lot of people thought, me included, that he was just too rough a couple of years ago. I even considered him a liability at times. Then he moves down to the RB spot and he never looked back. Very impressive.

He's been at right back for a while now, but he has really come on this season. I'm guessing from the title of this thread, Thor, that you and I weren't the only ones that thought he probably didn't quite have enough about him, but well done to him for proving us wrong in some style.

He's always been a right back, hasn't he? Played a bit in right midfield under Moyes when we were short of players but always thought of him as a right back.

Absolutely. He was brought in as a right back, but at the time we had Pip playing there. Seamus ended up doing a stint in right midfield, but looked short of good defensive attributes at that point. Indeed, during his early performances at right back he looked quite dodgy.
Like I said in my last post, I wouldn't have been disappointed to see him go - shows what I know!

Couldn't agree more on all accounts. He was a liability at first, especially as a winger, but even initially as a RB. But like you said, he has proved us wrong and then some!Barry Horne's Equaliser wrote:Tonteau wrote:Barry Horne's Equaliser wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Honestly though, I think a lot of people thought, me included, that he was just too rough a couple of years ago. I imagine Arse will look at Coleman as a possible replacement.

Seamus is in Dubai at the moment on holiday. When Bryan comes over next week we are hoping to bump into him at Jamie's Italian and convince him to stay at Everton.

Very very good news.
Now we just need to tie up Kone for 5 years and we are good for the foreseeable future.
