It's hard to see Cahill pull on the shirt of another English club. I think he is more likely to head back to Oz to play out his career.

Not sure what QPR would see in him. I really like the guy, but he has become more and more ineffective for us.Armchair Evertonian wrote:It's hard to see Cahill pull on the shirt of another English club. I think he is more likely to head back to Oz to play out his career.

Without his goals he offers nothing, sad to admit but it's true.
Victim of his own success of never having a defined position.

Looks like he appealed his sending off but has failed. He is apparently away with Oz at the start of the season anyway. I thought this was interesting though:

"My reaction at the end of the game was out of character but I was disgusted at comments made to me by Cabaye.
"I don't wish to elaborate on the exact detail of what was said - but his words have no place either on or off the football pitch.
"Cabaye has apologised via his club's website and as far as I am concerned the matter is now closed."

..that is the way to make a statement ! ... admitting he had cause but was still wrong to react... accepting whatever the punishment will be & move on
..simple really.. not a tee shirt in sight
btw.. Cahill also said "I accept my three-match ban."

Dead right. No "victim mentality", no moaning about how it's always us, no marches, no badges, no t-shirts, no placards.
It's the Everton way. I could never be a RS. If I had been unlucky enough to be a RS as a kid, I would have stopped through sheer embarrassment by now.
Suarez is a twat. They should sell him now.
Re: 17: Tim Cahill - Scores (on FIFA XII at least)
To be fair, for Cabaye to come out an apologise straight away shows he must have been well in the wrong. That's how the Evra Suarez thing could have gone, but if I'm honest, if it was racist (and it looked at first like he aimed a comment at Pienaar to me) then I'd rather this shit didn't get swept under the carpet.

Hadn't thought about that. I just assumed it was between Cahill and Cabaye. If you're right, then it really should be out in the open. It was good, and unusual, that Cabaye apologised. If it was racist, then hopefully the fact he immediately acknowledged he was out of order would have been reflected in any punishment. And yes, that's exactly how the Suarez thing should have gone. But it shouldn't be hushed up if it was racist.

Having read a bit more about it, Cahill seems to say it's comments made to him so I may have misread it. If it was racist, then I'm pretty sure cahill would have come out and made a complaint. But whatever, Cabaye must have been pretty keen not to have anyone know what he said to come out and be so contrite. Anyways, it is fairly refreshing to hear people apologise. But then we're not dealing with the RS and Suarez, here.

I read that as Cahill reacting to comments about somebody else. They all seem to treat Pienaar as the little brother (no pun intended , for a change).

I love Timmy (probably one of my favorites of all time) but he's 32 & if we get 6M+ that is great business.. From his point of view this is his chance to get that last big pay day..
Makes sense, but only if the price is right

Middle East a possibility for Timmy
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11671/7796345/
Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is not ruling out a move to the Middle East amid speculation linking him with Saudi Arabian giants Al Nasr.
The Australian is reportedly a key target for the club this summer, with reports suggesting he could earn up to £2.5million for one season if he completed a move.
Cahill has played numerous times in the Middle East while representing his country and the 32-year-old, who is contracted at Goodison Park until 2014, has made no secret of his admiration for the region.
"I know what the experience is like. I have lived and breathed it," he told AAP.
"I have played in two Asia Cups and I have got great connections with a lot of important people overseas.
"I come on holiday in the Middle East a lot and I embrace the weather and the culture.''
Speculation
Despite the heightened speculation, Cahill is pushing the rumours aside so he could concentrate on playing for Australia this month.
"All these sort of elements of speculation will be dealt with after camp,'' he added.
"It is always a compliment. I am a massive fan of the Middle East, the cultures, the people.
"I have travelled a lot and I respect them a lot. For me, it is just to focus on the Socceroos and we will see what happens later.''

Good luck to him if he goes.
He has been a great servant for us and if he leaves it should be on his own terms.

If he wants to go we shouldn't fight too hard to keep him. He is behind Felli in the pecking order for the 'supporting role' and we can use the money to sign Pienaar.

My thoughts exactly. We can get a little bit of money from his sale and replace his high salaries with the salary for Pienaar, or Dempsey, or whoever.Armchair Evertonian wrote:If he wants to go we shouldn't fight too hard to keep him. Cahill has mentioned on his twitter account today that he is off to Dubai then Australia. There is definitely some truth in the rumours but I would like at least a few million for him.

yeah, I was going to say thats his vacation. Well a runout for Adidas or the soccerroos first, then Oz, then back via Florida apparently to meet up with the Nevilles again.

First the Middle East ... now China... if they are paying 3.5M wages, they can afford a good transfer fee too...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2158414/Evertons-Tim-Cahill-given-lucrative-offer-China.html
Chinese side Guizho Renhe are ready to make Tim Cahill a lucrative offer to leave Everton.
The 32-year-old has two years on contract but looks increasingly likely to leave Goodison with Saudi Arabian clubs Al Hilal and Al Nasr also interested and offering wages of around £3.5m a year.
The midfielder, who has recently been on international duty with Australia in Oman, is one of Everton's longest serving players, making 278 appearances and scoring 68 goals.

Great servant to the club but his best days a behind him. Then again, would be ok if he stayed. He'd make a great impact sub.

I agree mate. I also think that if Pienaar is coming and Baines stays then Cahill would be back in double figures for goals scored this season.
Grand Old Team reckon the Red Bulls have made a bid of £1 million.
