Tim Howard: Ex-Man Utd & Everton goalkeeper retires
Former Manchester United and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has retired after playing his final game for Colorado Rapids.
Howard, 40, said in January that he would retire at the end of the MLS season, his third with Colorado.
The American, who made 339 Premier League appearances, won the FA Cup and League Cup during three years at United.
He won 121 caps for the USA and played at two World Cups.
Howard joined Everton on loan from United in 2006 and made the move permanent the following year. He played 413 games for Everton in all competitions in 10 seasons.
Howard holds the record for the most saves in a World Cup game - 15 against Belgium in 2014. He retired from international football in 2017.
The Rapids ended their season ninth in the Western Conference with a 3-1 loss to LA FC, Howard's 102nd appearance for the club.

Great reflex shot stopper, terrible decision making goalie.
You can't teach great reflexes. Hence, I am not sure he'd be a very good (goalie) coach.

HOWARD ANNOUNCED AS EVERTON'S FIRST AMBASSADOR IN USA
Everton Football Club is delighted to announce Tim Howard as the Club’s first International Ambassador in the United States.
The former Blues goalkeeper will make his first appearance in his new role on his Toffees return in Austin, Texas later this month, with fans being invited to attend an exclusive event with the USA great on Saturday 26 October.
>>>CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE EXCLUSIVE CLUB EVENT AND FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A SIGNED HOWARD SHIRT<<<
As well as being the star guest at the special fan event hosted by the Club, Howard will also represent Everton at NBC's Premier League Mornings Live earlier on the same day for the screening of the Blues' league encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Howard spent 10 years at Goodison Park and his 354 Premier League appearances is a Blues record. The 40-year-old called time on a stellar 22-year professional career after playing his final game for MLS team Colorado Rapids on Sunday.
Howard joined Everton initially on loan in summer 2006 and in 2008/09 recorded 17 Premier League clean sheets – a tally surpassed only four times across a campaign since the Club’s first league season in 1888/89.
In 2008/09, Howard’s two penalty saves sealed the Blues’ FA Cup semi-final shootout success against Manchester United at Wembley.
He made his farewell Everton appearance against Norwich City in May 2016 and left Goodison Park after playing 414 matches in all competitions for the Club.
Howard, who originally came to England when he joined Manchester United from New York/New Jersey MetroStars in 2003, won 121 caps for his country, a record for USA goalkeepers.
His Everton ambassadorial position will see him focus on supporting commercial activities for the Club and its Official Club Partners - and continue to build the profile of Everton in the USA.

There have been times when fellow Evertonians and I have gone to Colorado Rapids games and we have asked/shouted to have Tim come over for a talk. Has he ever? Fook no. Bit of a wanker.
Anyway, great news.....
