Re: 24: Tim Howard - USA USA USA
Is this the real reason Howard has taken a sabbatical from the US team?

Everton are considering a January loan approach for Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi after Tim Howard’s injury setback, Goal understands.
Roberto Martinez had initially earmarked Al-Habsi as a potential summer acquisition, when he could move to Goodison Park on a free transfer, but a calf injury sustained by the USA international – which could keep him out for up to six weeks – may accelerate a deal for the Latics goalkeeper.
However, a potential stumbling block is that of the Asian Cup, with Al-Habsi set to feature for Oman in this January’s competition in Australia, meaning he is unlikely to return to England until the end of the month.
West Ham, Hull City and Real Sociedad are also believed to be keen on signing Al-Habsi in the summer, but Martinez enjoys a good working relationship with Wigan, having previously raided his former club for the likes of Arouna Kone and James McCarthy.
Wigan are currently 23rd in the Championship, having won just one of their last nine games.
Martinez to continue to get Wigan back in the Premiership bit by bit or player by player.
Got to go for fuck sake.

Re: 24: Tim Howard - USA USA USA
With Everton keeper Tim Howard out of action for up to six weeks because of a calf injury, Roberto Martinez has admitted he is in the hunt to sign a new goalie.
He refused to comment on speculation he is interested in Cardiff City's number one David Marshall.
But Martinez did say: "I have said all along that goalkeeper is an area we need to look into.
"Tim has picked up an injury that wasn't expected and it is a long time to be without a goalkeeper. Once you lose one of your keepers you need to keep an eye on it.
"I'm not interested in bringing in someone for the sake of it or the short term. We need to bring someone in for the long term, so that's why we will look into that."

Howard to return against Chelsea tomorrow ? should be made to fight for his place, Robles keeps three clean sheets gets dropped.
Re: 24: Tim Howard - USA USA USA
The more i see of Robles, the more he impresses me.
I still think we should have sold Howard in the summer.

Yeah, very impressive against Shite. Especially with Ibe chance when he looked certain to score but Robles smothered it well. Timmy would have probably done a mid-air starfish jump with Ibe rolling the ball underneath him. Big choice for Martinez. Personally id stick with the man in form.

What I don't like about it is that seems as if as soon as Howard was fit he's starting. He ought to first show in practise that he's the better option. Robles has done well as of late.
