Why else would we let all these players go out?
that's the rumour flying around mate, but its just a rumour, remember the accuracy of wild guesses can go up and well as down
Wow. I didn't know of any rumour. The thought just came to me. It just seems abnormal, even for Everton, to be clearing out the cupboards and not doing any shopping to balance. I think our squad numbers were already well below the 25 allowed at the start of the season. We've since lost a few more.
Fingers crossed.
if we were trying to generate funds we'd be selling Felli, Arteta, Rodwell, Jags, Baines etc not offloading pip to spuds for a couple of mill.
as above if we were even close we'd have heard about this already, it would be massive news

according to this, he's asked Everton to "listen" to slobberchops, though he hasn't actually asked for a transfer. Seems to be the newspaper-speak of the moment, this "listen"ing lark.
I still can't imagine Neville chucking away everything he's built at Everton for the sake of a place on the bench in a CL game. I always assumed he'd stay on when he hung up his boots and join the coaching staff

Somehow the words 'desperate' and the sum of £500,000 don't quite relate.

We should put a £200,000 bid in for Gareth Bale to see what Redkapp says.

Maybe he has realised what a shit tip Everton are, and has been tipped off by Moyes not to stick around..?

That's beyond insulting.
If I were Pip, even after giving a bit of thought to such a move, and 'Arry thinks I'm worth £0.5M, I would stick 2 fingers up at him.
(OK, one will do)

he is 34 isnt it but even so I think 2-3 million is the type od money we should expect with just over a year on his contract.

For a £2-3m I'd rather keep him, unless he wants to leave.
Hmmm, this all sounds remarkably familiar...

@SkySportsRachG:
Harry Redknapp says there is still a 'possibility' of Everton full-back Phil Neville moving to Tottenham. More to follow.

2037: To be fair, that was a pretty emphatic response from Redknapp, it doesn't look like we're getting anything dramatic from Tottenham tonight. He did say the club bid for Everton full-back Phil Neville, but we've already heard from the Toffees boss that that one isn't happening, so that's that. It just doesn't feel like Deadline Day anymore does it?
Re: 18: Phil Neville - ex Captain Fantastic
Redknaap is a lying cunt.. he said in the summer he was finished & then signed VDV with 5 minutes or something left...

Re: 18: Phil Neville - ex Captain Fantastic
from the OS:
Everton have confirmed they rejected two ‘disrespectful and insulting’ offers for skipper Phil Neville.
The Club received a £250,000 bid from Tottenham Hotspur in the run-up to the closure of the transfer window. The bid was immediately rejected.
The North London club then returned with an increased bid on transfer deadline day split into two payments.
Again, the Everton board immediately turned down the offer for a player who has been hugely influential for the Blues following his arrival from Manchester United in 2005.
Manager David Moyes said: "We have had an offer from Tottenham of £250,000 which we received on Saturday afternoon. Then it was upped to £500,000 on Monday morning."
"I think that is insulting. It was £250,000 on Saturday afternoon when I was leaving the ground and they upped it to £500,000 on Monday morning. That was £250,000 now and £250,000 paid in a year's time.
"There is no reaction to that. I think an offer like that for Everton's captain is a disrespectful offer to the club and I think it is a disrespectful offer for a player of Phil's qualities. I could understand it if he had six months to go on his contract, but he has 18 months to go and he has played more or less every game for Everton this season."
Moyes added: "I think it is as surprising an offer as I have known in my career. I spoke to Harry on Saturday afternoon. He made the bid. We had a bit of banter about horses and things. There has been a lot of people saying things, but Saturday at 4pm was the first time we had an offer."
Re: 18: Phil Neville - ex Captain Fantastic
Anyone else think 'Arry is worried that we might have our traditional surge up the table in the closing stages, and is trying to unsettle us?

just think he thought he hadn't been quite enough of a cunt yet this transfer window. see also the Adams saga. if they wanted him there's no way it wouldn't have been done in time, just stops whoever else trying to sign him if he's tied up dealing with shiteknapp

If he is, he's the only one.
