Bluejags wrote:Is their a better English player then Ossie in the EPL that plays his type of game currently? England crying out for players that can pass and probe, turn sharply and hold onto possession. But it seems England would rather pick a headless chicken like Downing then someone with a bit of intelligence. I know Ossie is not up their with the Scholes and Silva's off this world but England aren't exactly blessed with this type of player, especially since Joe Cole went off the radar.
But Downing plays for the RS.

i like Osman, but about another £4m or so on top of this fee would get us Johnson from City.

Reports are that West Ham bid £6 million and we have rejected it.

He just turned 31. If we can get a bit more than £6M, that would probably be a good deal to be honest.Dixie Land wrote:Bryan wrote:Mr_Ben wrote:£6m to West Ham

One dodgy rumour site suggested it, a few people retweeted it and now it is taken as truth.
Unbelievable!

Me too, but he's never going to be a world beater.

Re: 21: Leon Osman - The Joker
He's a fine player - I guess I'd be disappointed if we sold him but £6M is a decent offer that reflects his ability.

Re: 21: Leon Osman - The Joker
I'm really made up for him. I think he's been great this season - I know he has his limits, but we seem to be a better team with him in the midfield holding the whole thing together. Having said that, I can't see him setting the international world on fire at this stage, but it's brilliant that he gets called up at last, and that the level of his talent and work-rate is finally recognised.
Nice one Ossie.

His game's never been about pace or power, so really he shouldn't have lost much in his age. But the england set up really isn't about the incisive passing game that we play at everton, so him and wilshire are kind of square pegs in round holes.

Only problem is that he will be behind Shelvey in the queue to get on the pitch. If Shelvey is injured between now and then Woy will probably call up Henderson and Osman will then be behind him.

Let´s go the whole hog and start a "Fellaini for England" movement. That might be a bit trickier though!
