6 points from 5 games is poor return considering all five games have been against 'weaker' opposition. I know we've got players out, two red cards, new faces yet to feature etc. The problem seems to be poor defending, which is the manager's responsibility to sort out on the training ground. What's Silva been doing since he took over?

Who cares what’s he thinks. He’s part of our past, better off forgotten about. He done his job, got his money and is thankfully gone. Silva is a risk but we wouldn’t have achieved anything under Allardyce.

With the exception of Digne and Bernard most players had a mare, culprits for poor performance? Jordan Pickford was very poor today,Holdgate and Zouma both poor no pace no passion at all.felt sorry for Schniederlin (should never have started)still grieving loss of his Father,Adrissa Gueye can't tackle-poor passing gives away too many free-Kicks,during transfer window far too much has been focused on defence, while we are still playing with a very poor attacking line, yes we had Richarlison suspended but? How many more chances do you give Cenk Tosun? Calvert Lewin is not up to Premiership standard yet and Niassie is not good enough,In January I want us to get a Number 2 that can challenge Pickford,we need a holding Midfielder that can also be a leader,we have no leadership on the pitch,we need a replacement for Lukaku,

It would be difficult to disagree with any of that Sefton.

Re: West Ham
When it comes to Digne and Bernard, I thought that Digne was good going forward but didn't defend well. And Bernard was mostly totally anonymous except for a couple of silly dives and a yellow when he couldn't keep up with a WH player. Both should be given time to settle in; we need more out of both of them.SEFTON wrote:Lumper wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Fat Sam is probably laughing his arse off at the moment.Armchair wrote:Lumper wrote:Armchair wrote:Bobby II?

Re: West Ham
Also, when the fook will Mina and Gomes (finally) feature for the team? 1/6 of the league games have already been played without these two featuring for a single second yet.

Mina, is preparing for the next world cup,so, his agent can negociate a world record time wasting transfer, too any club that is prepared to to pay £300 million and give citezenship t o the whole of Columbia.
Gomez, is currently filming the next Adams Family film.

Re: West Ham
I must admit I thought Bernard looked a hell of a player, the real deal.
Overall, I'm not too worried. Richarlison has been sensational, Digne looks as good as Baines in his prime (though Silva pushes the fullbacks up so high, I do worry for us defensively), Zouma looks solid, and Bernard, in his brief appearance looks ten times the player Lookman could ever hope to be. I think we've learned, so far, that our squad is incredibly thin. Once the new boys are all ready, and our old boys are fit again, I wouldn't mind seeing a line up like this:
Goalkeeper -Pickford
Defence - Coleman Mina Zouma Digne
Midfield - McCarthy Siggi Gomes
Right attack - Walcott
Number 9 - Richarlison
Left attack - Bernard
The question is whether Silva will play Richarlison down the middle. If not, then Richarlison takes Bernard's place for the moment (or Bernard takes Siggi's place), and we desperately need to find a striker/finisher.
DCL is a total waste of space, Tosun is not good enough, and Niasse - despite his nuisance value - is not the answer. In the case of DCL, I think we'd be better trying another of the U23s and sticking him back where he belongs, either in the reserves or out on loan.
In defence and midfield, Kenny looks ok but not better than Coleman, Holgate had an absolute mare and will struggle to get anywhere near the team once Keane and Mina are fit, Gueye was shite, Scheinds poor.
I'll judge us once we get nearer to the team above.

Re: West Ham
Sunday was a terrible day for us and we never looked like recovering from 1-0 down.
Unsure what the problem with Cenk Tuson is, he looked okay previously and you would think with Theo and Richarlison/Bernard/Digne/Giffi sending the balls in he should score.
Agree on the CM, we look at sea....
Away to Arsenal next, Danny Wellbeck could even get on the score sheet

Re: West Ham
To make things even more depressing after our loss to the bottom of the table Hammers, the Shite are up against PSG.
At the moment it feels like we are not even playing the same fooking sport, never mind in the same league.
