Everton V Stoke City
Premier League fixture Saturday 12th August 3pm Kick off
Everton kept a clean sheet for this fixture last August and are odds on to shut Stoke out on Saturday.
Wayne Rooney became Man Utd's all time highest scorer by scoring against Stoke last season and is hoping to score against them again but in the blue of Everton.
The man officiating on Saturday will be Neil Swarbrick, who dismissed Ashley Williams at the draw at Old Trafford in April.
Coleman, Besic, Funes Mori, Barkley, Stekelenburg, Lennon, Bolasie and McCarthy are all missing through injury.
I think keeping a clean sheet this season will be all the more important, without the goals of Lukaku to bale us out.
Who the fcuk are Stoke anyway!

Re: Everton V Stoke City
fully expect to lose this.. from what I've seen of pre-season which is a fair amount... we've looked shit, especially going forward... midfield is un-imaginative.. defence in the middle ok, but Cuckoo is a joke at RB.. striker options very weak & Wayne not the answer to the massive hole in ability left behind with Luka leaving.
The best thing to say is if Besic plays anytime soon it can get worse.
booooooo .... sack everyone ... booo ....

Re: Everton V Stoke City
I'd start:
Pickford cos he's the new Neville Southall without the beer gut and bin van
Kenny cos he's similar to Seamus
Keane cos we're only going to have him for a season before Citteh buy him off us for £100m
Besic for the laughs
Cucu cos Baines needs to get a new haircut
Davies cos he's old skool
Gana cos he runs around a lot
Lookman cos he's the only player we've got who can run faster than my granny walks
Mirallas cos he's nearly as fast as Lookman
Rooney cos even though he's a fat has-been he's still a better footballer than the rest of our squad combined
Sandro cos I like his tats and he's Spanish
subs: everyone else except Klaassen cos I think our returns period runs out soon and we can't afford to get him damaged before we send the useless fucking clog head back to Ajax

I like Besic Looked very comfortable on the ball In preseason,I think Guaye and Schniderlin can't play together? always In each others way,Jonjoe Kenny for me at right-back ,
Cucu ok on left back would prefer three prong attack In Ramirez-Lookman-Rooney.Davies Instead of Schniderlin.
2-0 the mighty Blues.

Re: Everton V Stoke City
I have no confidence in this team yet.
2-0 defeat or 0-0 bore draw.
Koeman is trying to buy a winning side, not build one so we're fucked for a little while

Re: Everton V Stoke City
I would just play Pickford in goal and Tom Davies outfield, in a 1-1 attacking formation. Go with that and will win 5-0, Davies with 5.

Re: Everton V Stoke City
I must say that it feels rather strange that the league starts again tomorrow. Seems like this summer break was shorter than ever before.

That's because of Europa early qualification Thor.

Plus FA has committed to England to squeeze the calendar to ensure that we finish early because of WC2018

Re: Everton V Stoke City
I've shaken off my pre-season negativity & I now think that we will win this 6-0 .. 5 from Rooney 1 from Koeman
All of our new signings will be clogged out injured for the rest of the season by the knuckle dragging Stoke neanderthals

a typically scrappy game whilst we continue to up our fitness levels, we will no doubt fall behind and then kick on to win 2-1

◾Everton's last four Premier League campaigns have all begun with a draw, with three of them ending 2-2. Their only opening-match victory in the last nine seasons came in 2012-13, when they beat Manchester United 1-0 at Goodison Park.

Re: Everton V Stoke City
Presumably a back three. Which is fine, but I don't see the need for two holding midfielders as well.

Re: Everton V Stoke City
A bit of a hesitant start to the game from both sides. Stoke with some long balls, we are passing the ball around the back. Stoke are very condensed in the middle.
