Re: Davy klaassen
Sign someone for loads of money, play him a few times in a team that is playing badly, then sell him 12 months later for half the original transfer fee. It's the complete opposite of 'Moneyball'.

Did you by chance leave off the word "opposite"...?Armchair wrote:Sign someone for loads of money, play him a few times in a team that is playing badly, then sell him 12 months later for half the original transfer fee. It's the complete of 'Moneyball'.

Re: Davy klaassen
Davy Klaassen has returned to Ajax from Werner Bremen, signing a four year contract until June 2024. The Eredivisie side have paid €11m, potentially rising to €14m with add-ons.
The former Ajax captain came through the club's academy, making 181 first team appearances and scoring 55 goals. Klaassen previously won three Eredivisie titles with Ajax and won the Johan Cruijff Shield in 2013. In 2016, he was voted Footballer of the Year.
He joined Everton for the 2017/18 season before moving to Werden Bremen.

Re: Davy klaassen
A goal and an assist for him tonight against Turkey. Must say I didn't know he was playing for the national team.

The Dutch are generally overrated, and I think Klaassen's presence in their team is evidence of that. He hasn't turned into Scholes since he left us.
Depay, on the other hand, has looked the absolute bollocks the last three or four times I've watched him. Way better than his United days.
Turkey are just weird. Twatted the Dutch and Norway in their first two qualifiers, then drew with Latvia, were probably the worst team in the Euros, drew with Montenegro and have now been taken apart by Davy Klaassen and his mates. Didn't help that Soyuncu got sent off for the 9th time this season in the first half. They were already 3-0 down by then though.
