Very happy with that. We're a better team with Gibson in the middle. He's basically Carsley.

Very good. Gibbo was classy, Garbutt looks the business going forward, and I thought Coleman was the pick of the bunch.

Lukaku had one of his better games I thought, looked more like the old Luka. But Kone was fucking shite. Sure, he held the ball up well but he never looked like he would score. That miss, when he hit the post, was terrible - he had ages, and he had the whole goal to aim at.

Great night though, really chuffed we're the only Brits left in the Europa, mega-chuffed the Shite lost on pens in Istanbul  cheers  cheers  cheers

Great result tonight, good to see Ossie back , weird decision playing Besic, Barry useless , play Gibson more and we could turn this season round. Kone is Shyte we need another striker in the summer, should took Lukaku off sooner , could be carrying a knock best news of all the tv and media only have Everton in the Europa will we get much coverage ? I doubt it .

no report at all in the Torygraph

The RS couldn't have picked a more appropriate place to get knocked out on penalties though, could they? Delicious irony. Twisted Evil

I thought Besic looked very good, but it was an odd decision as Sanogo was trying to find somebody to fight, and Besic is usually up for that... Whatever M4G's delusions/obsessions about Besic's ability he's a very good footballer and a hard worker.

I have to agree, he's got great feet. I like it when he's playing a little further up the field. He seemed to have a sixth sense about where Garbutt was too. I know Young Boys gave us space and let us play, but we looked more balanced and confident as a team tonight with Garbutt and Gibbo in the side and with Besic pulling a few strings in the final quarter. Kevin made some very good runs down the middle too.

Nothing like Carsley.
As much as I liked Cars, Gibbo was pinging forward passes most of the night. If he could only stay fit. His pass for KM to score was the best through ball of the season.
As for coverage, the BBC could barely bothered to mention us, before or after the game. They still have an agenda at Broadcasting House.
Bring back Joel, and let United come in for Baines again.
So, Villarreal for the next round anybody?

I mean he sits there doing his job without any fuss and we only miss him when he's not there, the same way we did with Cars.
