Without the not insignificantly experienced spine of Howard, Jagieka & Barry ... that was a tremendous result today

I'd have to agree with that. It really was.

I was really impressed by the Saints. Moved the ball around well, and pressed very high. It's like they were at home, almost, in that regard.

Well done me, I played a blinder there, although I'm right about Robles, he's a dodgy keeper, we saw it against Sunderland, keeps fumbling the ball.

Didn't watch the game been out at the wife's sisters all day, but great reading the thread on here to catch up, it's better than the MOTD highlights!  Very Happy

Oh.... I've never felt more like singing the blues, when Everton win, and Liverpool lose  cheers

I wish that video started some 5 seconds earlier, showing how no one comes to help him out and then he just takes off around the defender.

Big disagree from me.
Nais is not my favourite player, as he is usually put out wide by both DM and RM, but he won almost every header that came his way today. Robles kicked almost every clearance to him, and he nodded on to Big Luke several times. He is clearly better in an attacking role which he so rarely plays. Good heart and a kind of Kilbane. Not much really but keeps the shape of the team and will get you the odd goal.

Big Luke. Today, the little dibble/step over and shot reminded me of a football-playing Shaquille O'Neill. Also, you know when Arnold Schwarzenegger is covered in cold mud, and the Preditor comes out of the water.................

The comment was largely tongue in cheek, but it doesn't change the fact that he was largely anonymous during the game. I'm pretty sure that we're not going to have a long-term role for a player whose main ability is to flick it on once every five minutes. Even Coleman's goal came about because he had no-one on the right with him and he had no option but to take it himself. But yes, I don't doubt his effort, just his ability.

very much the same opinion as most on here, a very hard fought three points against a very organised team.

Mauricio Pochettino reckons we're ugly enough to get the referee decisions, not like his handsome young boys.

Talk about sour grapes. The ball hit the hand but was stuck from so close to Alcaraz (?) it would have been harsh to give a penalty, just as it would have been harsh to give a penalty for the push on Naismith as he chased that long ball. I'm surprised more wasn't made of Oviedo's tackle, which I thought was worthy of a red card. So in conclusion, fuck off Pinocchio  Everton 2 Southampton 1 (Coleman, Lukaku) - Page 17 Action-2

to be fair it was a clear penalty, but so was Nais getting dragged down in their box, losing managers always have biased vision, except Boberto of course Very Happy

I've probably seen about 10 similar incidents over the last couple of weeks and not one was given.
