2 1 win for us. lukaku will score, as will ossie.  we can take great heart from the chelsea win

they reckon they have sussed out how to beat Martinez, so they will no doubt keep it tight in defence and midfield and close down and pressure our defenders when they have the ball to try to force mistakes.

If they do use these tactics it will be interesting to see how well we cope.

It might be part of Martinez's learning curve trying to cope with high pressure and roughhouse tactics in our own final third.

1-0, Kone to score.... (he will one day)

I have been 4 times and I think they won 3 of them and drew the other, i'm going again on Saturday.

The key will be Deulofeu and Mirallas, their pace and trickery will invite the clogging hammers to concede fouls for free kicks and pennos. Unfortunately Lee Mason is reffing, which means we'll get none of them.

same starters as against Chelsea or Osman dropped because he's too lightweight against a physical side? McCarthy to start instead maybe?

lukaku to start on the bench? or let him beat up the west ham defence for a hour before giving way to Kone later in the game?

Since I strongly suspect that Lukaku will be our best striker, I would start him to get him more time on the pitch.

I can see the argument to send him on when the defenders are starting lose a step, but I would still start him.

If you're playing a physical side, why play to their strengths? Play a lot of nifty ball players with good feet, add some pace and their cloggers can't handle it. It's like going long ball against Pulis's Stoke - never going to work.

Surely Lukaku has to be our 1st choice striker .... Jelli has been firing blanks longer than my vasectomy & Ice Cream Kone is all Ramadam'd out & warming the physios hands while tying his rainbow laces ....

I'll be gutted if Lukaku doesn't start

I think you're selling him short. He's got good enough balance and skills to draw the foul or get his body in between the man and the ball. He can also get stuck in when he needs to. He played great with Gaz Baz against Chelsea, would be a shame to drop him just because we're afraid he might lose the ball rather than play him because he makes us play better.

Bit gutted at that to be honest. I know that Moyes never liked to change a winning side, so I can understand it, but I think the inclusion of Lukaku would have given the team and fans a huge lift. I still expect to see him come on and actually he did well coming off the bench for West Brom last season.
