Up to 9th. Only two unbeaten teams now and they both play on Merseyside.

My question is - did we ever beat Chelsea in Mourinho's first reign?

Barry all smiles as he walks off the pitch. Looks like he was very happy, great to see. And he was arguably MOTM today, did very well slotting straight in to the team and performed very well.

Really, really enjoyed that game. Barry looks to be a fantastic signing and what a debut game for him. Nais did really well and seems to have improved under Bobby. If this is the type of footie we are going to play then it's going to be fun being an Evertonian this season Smile

Allez Allez Allez Au! Allez Allez Allez Au! We're Everton FC. Roberto's blue army!

The way we played once we'd gone 1-0 up was excellent. Back to the wall for 10-15mins in the first half but then we started to counter attack well and create chances on the break.

We should really have conceded a couple of goals, though. Peno decision went for us this time.

Ok cos we were winning I've decided to have a post run party in our apartment instead and follow the game on bbc.  Although when they said nais had scored I thought it was bollox.

cheers  Great win, first time Jose has been beaten at goodison!

However.... Being the harbinger of doom, the bbc said we defended deep and broke quickly, wasn't this exactly how Wigan used to beat the top teams?

But it doesn't work against the teams below you or those who also park the bus, like our first three games, so we need to sort out a better way of breaking down these teams.... How did Kone play?

We should have, though. Got absolutely robbed in a 1-1 draw at stamford bridge when Jimmy Vaughan scored.

Anyone who cared to listen to me previously would have seen me say that I was quite pleased with the start to the season and that, sooner or later, we would probably bag a win when we didn't deserve it as opposed to the first three games when we certainly deserved at least 2 wins. Today Everton defended resolutely - and whilst Chelsea will feel aggrieved at the result after spurning several good openings it is only right to point out that Howard was only called upon to make one decent save.

Barry looks an excellent acquisition - always in the right place - but to be fair, all the team played well.

For Chelsea - Mata apart - there were some undistinguished performances - Terry slower than a truck and miles apart from David Luiz in the centre of the back line, E'too I can only assume was kept on as punishment for his utter wastefulness, Ramires as bad as ever...

Oh and Mr Hazard - you miserable, surly so-and-so (as I can attest from having met him) - unlucky son.

Thought we did really well today especially in the second half and even after Jelavic went off we did well without a striker.

Barry was awesome today - if he carries on like that what a signing it will be

Defence did well and especially liked Ladyboy's air shot !!

Well done Blues a fantastic 3 points, 3 clean sheets and not lost yet - not a bad start to what could be a good season
